Victoria Riverside, Manchester | Construction Update
Here are photos and updates from the site of Victoria Riverside in Manchester, latest update of December 2022.
According to updates from the developer (FEC UK): the concrete frames are progressing swiftly with Tower B close to completion. Tower A has reached level 11 and Tower C is at level 15.
Further key milestones have been reached across build this period, with the installation of the unitised façade commencing. The façade has now reached level 4 on Tower C and level 2 on Tower B, allowing for the scheduled internal fit-out to commence. The internal fit-out will include the creation of interior walls alongside elements of electrical, plumbing and mechanical engineering.
The construction schedule for 2023 forecasts completion of the concrete frames at Towers B & C, and the commencement of lift installation and fitting of the unitised façade to Tower A. Further progress on the internal apartment fit-outs can be made once the façade has been installed.

I had a company car at the time. Had the exhaust stolen of it once from there. Pretty grim part of town. Will be very interesting to see how it ends up.

A bid to overturn the city council’s decision to grant planning permission for GMS Parking’s controversial student skyscraper between Great Marlborough Street and Hulme Street has failed.
Manchester City Council’s planning committee approved GMS’ plans for the 55-storey, 853-bedroom development in June 2021. (At the time, Cllr William Jeavons dubbed the £130m project a “cheese grater-esque tombstone”.)

Yes, it has had mixed reactions. I’m personally looking forward to seeing it under construction and seeing how it turns out.
Construction on the 477-apartment One Port Street is set to begin soon, with hoardings going up this week.
Renaker Build is the main contractor for Select Property’s Manchester project, which was designed by architect SimpsonHaugh. The construction cost for the scheme was listed as £126.5m in 2021, according to a viability statement by Lambert Smith Hampton. The same report listed the gross development value of the project as £154m.
One Port Street will be the flagship for Select’s newest residential brand, The Prestige Collection.
