Another tower going up.

The office part of the development next to the tower isn’t going ahead. There are other plans for that site.

The scheme will deliver 13,000 sq ft of resident amenities including a gym, yoga studio, quiet study areas, meeting spaces, screening rooms, shared lounges and games rooms.

The development will incorporate sustainability features including a green living roof, solar PV panels and sustainable materials. Plans also include an 11-storey public art installation across 30 pre-cast panels.

HG Construction will be internally delivering the concrete frame and piling on the scheme, which is due for completion in 2028.

Adam Quinn, CEO, HG Construction said: “This is an exciting scheme which will make a significant contribution to the transformation of this area and help to meet the high and growing demand for first-class student accommodation in the Manchester area.

“We are delighted to partner with Greystar on this landmark Manchester scheme.

I`d given up on that project ever starting Jrb . I`ll wait till i see spades in the ground before i actually believe it`s going ahead !

I had as well. You know what Peel Holdings are like. I’ll keep on checking daily as I work not far from the site. You never know, it might actually be starting in ernest now?

The proposed Modern Surf across the road is officially on hold. The company behind it can’t get funding for it. And Peel Holdings won’t fund it.

The bottom photo is from a couple of weeks ago and shows the slight (!) change that has taken place over the past 21 years.
