Relentless Developments and Salboy have sold 98% of the branded residences at St Michael’s, less than 6 months since launch.

The development introduces the first branded residences to the city, bringing hotel-inspired living alongside a 5 star experience within the development’s iconic 41-storey tower.

Simon Ismail, Co-founder & MD, Salboy Group, commented: “We knew Manchester’s first branded residences in this one-off prime location would make a huge impact but the response has been overwhelming. This has been our fastest-selling launch to-date at record-breaking prices. The intense demand from purchasers proves Manchester can now sustain values comparable to London and other European capital cities and that is something our city should be rightly proud of.

Henley Investment Management has submitted an outline planning application for 3,200 homes across 10 buildings- including the UK’s tallest tower outside London – a scheme the developer insists has been designed with the local community in mind.

The proposed redevelopment of Regent Retail Park in Salford has a gross development value of between £900m and £1bn, according to Henley,

While a lot of thought has gone into how the scheme works at ground level, the most eye-catching element of the development is undoubtedly the proposed 70+ storey skyscraper to the east of the site, roughly where TK Maxx currently stands.

The building would be the tallest in the UK outside the capital, overtaking Salboy’s proposed Viadux 2 by half a metre, and towering over Renaker’s nearby Trinity Islands.

The office part of the development next to the tower isn’t going ahead. There are other plans for that site.

The scheme will deliver 13,000 sq ft of resident amenities including a gym, yoga studio, quiet study areas, meeting spaces, screening rooms, shared lounges and games rooms.

The development will incorporate sustainability features including a green living roof, solar PV panels and sustainable materials. Plans also include an 11-storey public art installation across 30 pre-cast panels.

HG Construction will be internally delivering the concrete frame and piling on the scheme, which is due for completion in 2028.

Adam Quinn, CEO, HG Construction said: “This is an exciting scheme which will make a significant contribution to the transformation of this area and help to meet the high and growing demand for first-class student accommodation in the Manchester area.

“We are delighted to partner with Greystar on this landmark Manchester scheme.

I`d given up on that project ever starting Jrb . I`ll wait till i see spades in the ground before i actually believe it`s going ahead !

I had as well. You know what Peel Holdings are like. I’ll keep on checking daily as I work not far from the site. You never know, it might actually be starting in ernest now?

The proposed Modern Surf across the road is officially on hold. The company behind it can’t get funding for it. And Peel Holdings won’t fund it.
