Manchester’s Changing Skyline

Well done jrb for keeping us up to date with developments in Manchester, i see you are back on the skyscraper city forum. Good luck with most of the regulars on there who could start an argument in an empty building.
Yeah, I decided to go back after one and a half years.

I’m only posting pictures, videos, and my city centre construction picture roundups. I’m doing one next week as I’m off work for a week.

I’m not getting involved in the discussions, bar the North stand expansion thread, every now and again.

I’m flitting between this thread and SSC-MCR now. This thread and BM won’t be missing out.

Superb!

Another drone video.

Some really nice drone footage of the city centre and individual buildings.

The video is just over 11 minutes long.

Just a reminder, watch in 2160p4K, white cog.

Far East Consortium has appointed the contractor to build 895 homes at Red Bank, part of the 390-acre Manchester regeneration project.

CR Construction has signed a contract to deliver four buildings ranging from nine to 34 storeys off Dantzic Street, the next phase of the £4bn Victoria North.

Work is due to start on the £210m first phase of Red Bank Riverside site early next year, following the completion of the enabling works carried out by BAM.

Manchester Therme has been redesigned again for the 4th time.

Apparently this is final time Therme Manchester will be redesigned.

New hoardings have been put around the site.(pictures taken and posted last week on the thread) A start on Therme Manchester will begin next year.

Place North West.

A long-awaited, 28-acre well-being complex boasting 25 pools and more than 35 waterslides is set to be built at Trafford City.

Appointments have been made to key construction roles and some designs have been tweaked, according to an update provided by Therme Group ahead of groundworks which will start in the year the venue was originally scheduled to open.

“We are delighted to see all the excitement and positive feedback in Manchester and further afield and we will continue to deliver updates to the community on the status of the project.

“The site hoardings are being installed, utility preparations have commenced, and groundworks will begin in 2025 with a design that delivers a landmark development which will stand as a beacon of wellbeing innovation.”

I’ve taken some screen grabs from the Design & Access Statement that explain the new changes to Therme Manchester, including new CGI’s.

As a rule the Design & Access Statement(first link) is all you really need to read and look through. If you want to look at the full and revised Planning Application(second link), I’ve included that as well.

The screen grabs are in order.
