As our Echo Street, Manchester project continues to progress, the Architectural features are now beginning to come together on site.

When reflecting on a recent site visit with a photographer, I was reminded of the importance of these features and how they respond to the Whitworth conservation area our site is located within.

The project team are up for the challenge to deliver a project fitting for some stunning neighbouring buildings; excited to see the results in Summer 2026!

Whitbread, which owns the chain, has appointed the contractor to build a 229-bedroom hotel off Rochdale Road.

GMI Construction is expected to start work on the 10-storey Premier Inn this autumn. Completion of the project is scheduled for autumn 2026.

Whitbread acquired the site from Premcor earlier this year. Once open, the site will be the seventh Premier Inn in central Manchester and one of its largest in the city.

We're thrilled to announce that Tower crane 1, the first of three tower cranes, has been successfully erected at St. Michael's.

Standing at an impressive 70 meters, tower crane 1 will eventually soar to approximately 145 meters.

But that's not all! The weekend of August 17th-18th, tower crane 2 will be erected on site. Initially placed in the basement like tower crane 1, tower crane 2 will later be repositioned to the Level 7 roof, transforming into tower crane 3. At this new height of 72 meters, it will continue to support the remainder of the build.

The town elders will have to rename the bottom end of Deansgate. The oft used nickname on here ("Manc-hattan") would be good!
