Stockport-based developer Beluga Group and registered provider ForHousing want to build 63 apartments on the Cannon Street site, a much denser scheme than others previously proposed.

We're very pleased to announce the completion of the unitised façade on the Denton Corker Marshall-designed Bankside tower—Phase 2 of the Renaker Colliers Yard Masterplan!

Standing tall at 42 stories, this residential tower is enveloped in sleek glass and natural anodised aluminium, accented by a striking black geometric grid. The unique design features a repeating pattern of four-storey stacked tiers, layered with a distinctive geometric grid that adds depth and visual intrigue, while subtly shifting the perception of scale....in other words, it looks fantastic!

I'm reading it could be another two years before the refurbishment will be completed, and nearly 70m over budget. I hope it'll be worth it.

I’m sure it will be.

That aside, the town hall is probably Manchester’s most historical building and needs to be preserved for future generations of Mancunians and visitors to Manchester.

Agreed, 100%. I'm sure you know my feelings on these old, historical builings in Manchester. That building will put anything that's gone up in the last 30 years in the shade.
