Looks like Los Angeles but everything on a more minor scale from the flat spread of the conurbation in a valley to the skyscraper cluster to the mountains in the background.

Yes, very uncanny.

Manchester's skyline does resemble a North American city skyline with boxed shaped towers (which I prefer over different shaped towers) at the centre of a city built on a flat plain.
