Manchester’s Changing Skyline

A lot of activity in the air but visited Manchester today for the first time in years and it’s a dirty, stinking, tatty unsafe place to visit. No wonder Bernardo wants out, one night in the city centre would be enough for me let alone permanently.

Such a shame as it has potential but the basics are being badly neglected.
Gets right on my tits. The place is a shithole at footfall/eye-level.

Graffiti is big one as well as dirt and litter, it’s everywhere at the moment.

This is all over the outside walls of Band On The Wall at the moment. They’ve got moving picture walls all around the building and some **** has graffiti’d all over them:

Does my swede in.

The scaffolding is finally coming down on the Museum of Science and Industry's Power Hall. Can't actually remember a time when it wasn't clad in scaffolding!

Viadux construction update.

Click on the link under the screen grab for the picture video.

*The office block is no longer going ahead. It’s being replaced by another residential tower. Viadux 2, as it’s currently being called. No info yet, apart from rumours it’s going to be bigger than Viadux 1, which is 40 stories.

We are continuing work on a brand-new and exclusive mixed-use development, the Viadux in Manchester. The project is a 40-storey residential tower with extraordinary views over the City Centre. The development will also provide 240,000 sq. ft of Grade A Office Space.

After successfully completing a crucial visual mock up (VMU) inspection and performance mock up testing (PMU) last year, we are progressing on this development for our client Domis Construction and architect SimpsonHaugh.

We have successfully installed 727 unitised panels so far, only 2683 left to go.

Keep an eye out for further updates!

Victoria House

Ben Robinson - Linkedin

2023 has started off with a bang! A busy few weeks flying up and down the country seeing all of our new and existing sites, thanks to everyone who has put the kettle on for me in the colder weather!

One of my favorite parts of any project is finally seeing all the years of design and team work finally come out of the ground and come to reality, especially on a project as complex and as impressive as Victoria House, Manchester.

Amazing to see the teasing of the initial sample panel in the shadow of the full build rocketing ahead.

Once completed this will be one of the largest Ecomin 400 Meldorfer Brickslip systems project in the UK to date.

A two-acre stalled site off Chester Road is to be sold at auction later this month with a guide price of £1.5m, less than half of what the plot was originally expected to sell for.
