Manchester’s Changing Skyline

Walked around town first time in ages looks impressive, however the City has a huge problem, Don't blame the council for the disgusting state of litter and detritus, i don't drop litter, the City has a huge number of cave people which does not bode well.
I don’t get it though. You’d think people of Leeds are seemingly no different to the people of Manchester, yet have a walk around Leeds city centre; a much less impressive city centre than Manchester but a fuck more clean and tidy. No litter no strewn bin bags no graffiti no weirdos lying about no drug dealers clearly dealing in board daylight…

Manchester seems to have a huge number of total scum cunts who don’t give a single shit about their city and have absolutely no pride in it or being Mancunian, compared to Leeds.

Either that or their council are better at cleaning things up.

I think the city needs a good tidy up so much park land scrub land and in fill. The big developments are great but what about all the smaller stuff that could be done quickly

Interesting read.

Ian Simpson rules out a 300 metre residential tower being built in Manchester in his lifetime.

The Subplot - Place North West.

HOW FAR CAN THE TRANSFORMATION OF MANCHESTER’S SKYLINE GO

“It won’t happen in my lifetime,” says Ian Simpson, one half of SimpsonHaugh Architects, which has designed seven of the eight tallest buildings currently standing in Greater Manchester – including six for Renaker.

Deloitte partner John Cooper, another of Renaker’s trusted partners, believes the current project might be pushing the limit of what is achievable.

“We won’t go much taller than 70 storeys in my career,” he says.

The chief culprit for lack of supertall ambition in Manchester is profitability. It simply doesn’t stack up.

Isn't it the case that once you get above 20/25 storeys, build costs start to get very expensive?

I was in Leeds last week. I think the City centre there is far nicer than Manchester.

Hopefully if my left knee holds up I’ll do a partial monthly city centre construction roundup on Sunday. Or as much of the city centre as I can do.

Normally do a construction roundup every month, but because of my left knee, and the poor weather (Sunday’s are the best day’s as most of the construction sites are quiet), I’ve not done one for months.

Going to focus around Middlewood Locks, Salford, St John’s and New Bailey for a change. If I can do anymore I will. Got to get the match in as well.
