I wouldn’t mind living there to be honest.

I used to drive a van for a firm in Ancoats in the late 80's. I got to know it like the back of my hand- every shortcut, you name it. I used to park up here, and other places, and just marvel at them. Ancoats then was surreal. Like something out of a Ridley Scott film.
