Manchester’s Changing Skyline

Thanks for the pics jrb, i noticed in the pics the Mark Addy on the river looks abandoned, i would have thought this would be a gold mine given the development of the area. my usual day out at Maine Rd would be the train to Salford central, Mark Addy, Sawyers on Deansgate, old monkey and then down to the lass o gowrie near the old BBC. Very surprised to see it looking abandoned.

My pleasure.

Got a few more pictures to post later.

Just scratched the surface really. Rushing around before the Chelsea game.

Loads more construction in the city centre that I didn’t have time to take pictures of.

I’ll do a better construction roundup in a few weeks when I’m off work.

The current crane count in the city centre and Salford Quays is 30 cranes. (going off SSC-MCR rules). Cranes outside those areas are not included, so the crane count will be higher in total.

There have been a few additional crane updates since the list was posted. Now at 29 cranes. (there will be 4 cranes used for the North stand expansion)

Credit to Trident Rider for his sterling crane count updates.

3rd picture. Add Renaker’s, River Garden’s, 60/55 storey towers, currently going up. White crane.

Regent Plaza from above this week. Block B is 100% complete internally and externally, with significant progress made on Block C.

What a beautiful addition to the sunny Manchester skyline.

We cannot believe how fast this year is going!! Almost as fast as the progress on Victoria House!!

21 weeks ago we put up the perimeter screens and now they're up to the 19th floor.

It kept flooding so I assume it's a no no because of that ?

Going to Manchester for the first time in 5 years next month. Will be interesting to see the changes to the city. Will be different from my usual view from the office window.
