The club is located to the south east of Manchester and enjoys glorious views of the Cheshire Plain, the Peak District National Park and the City of Manchester.

One Monday it is then, which is handy, as it's one of my days off work.

A family friend runs that golf club. Great views up there.

Not sure they're all working tbf and they're B&Q security lights at best.

It's also filthy, grimy and with the customary buddleia growth adornments.
It could be such proud landmark with a bit of creative thought (and money).

It really is a shame, it really could be such a striking landmark, admittedly I have a bit of a soft spot as one of my granddads were born and raised pretty much underneath it on Heaton Lane back in the day.

Just hoping it's been thought about at the very least.

Stockport is starting to (finally) regenerate itself and this could be a real proud landmark it it's shown some consideration.
It's not as if they have to build a landmark from scratch - it's already there.

When it was completed it was.

Work began in March 1839 and despite its scale and flooding from the Mersey, the viaduct was completed in December 1840 and services commenced the same month. Roughly 11 million bricks were used in its construction; at the time of its completion, it was the world's largest viaduct and a major feat of engineering.

It is, but Mersey Square Shopping Centre will always blight Stockport.

Nice one! If you’re up there in the coming months for whatever reason, it’s a nice day, you’ve got a bit of spare time, take a few skyline pictures please. Planning do just that, but not until the weather improves.

Yes, very uncanny.

Manchester's skyline does resemble a North American city skyline with boxed shaped towers (which I prefer over different shaped towers) at the centre of a city built on a flat plain.
