Last week another huge milestone was hit at RG Group and Olympian's Manchester project The Fairfax as the 1st of two tower cranes was erected.

The brilliant footage below captured by Clevershot show's the process of the erection carried out by JR Crane Services Ltd and Falcon Tower Crane Services Ltd as well as the significant groundworks progress being made by Stephenson Group.

A busy few weeks ahead as the slipform to block 1 of the project commences as well as the 2nd tower crane erection.

Our first tower crane is now up at First Street, Manchester on our development for Vita Group. House of Social is ready to come out of the ground! The second crane goes up later this week... and my youngster wants a go at operating it ;) Well done to the team at RENAKER and Select Plant Hire.

River Gardens as it's now called at 60 and 55 stories will look massive coming into the city centre along Regent Road.

There will be another two towers on the opposite car park. The Casino & KFC site is earmarked for a tall residential development.

Once everything is constructed it really will be an impressive gateway into the city centre, similar to the impressive Chester Road/GJS gateway into the city centre.

The amount of new towers constructed, under construction, and proposed is insane considering the size and population of Manchester.

Attended site today for the pre-completion visit and I have to say I was amazed at the progress which has been made since my last visit. Viadux is looking fantastic Salboy Domis Construction you’ve done an amazing job. Still not a fan of the height or using the hoist but was worth it when we reached the top, albeit it was a very cloudy Manchester today. Thank you Anthony for taking the time out of your busy schedule to give us a tour and as always you were extremely informative.

if that's just behind the Hilton I think I put up that tower crane with our 500 tonne mobile crane which I was on at the time..

I know Renaker get some criticism for their similar shaped and sized towers at times. That’s another discussion. But nobody can argue about or fault their landscaping around their developments. The finish is always superb. And it’s well maintained. Derelict land and ghost car parks turned into greenery and oasis.
