Tony Fernandez made a similar statement a few weeks before he got rid of Leslie.
It means very little, and wouldnt stop speculation.
Well he got rid of him didn't he.
I am not saying we put out a statement and then 3 weeks later get rid of Mancini- as that would make us look stupid.
My point is, we should know by now if Mancini is staying next season, or not. If we don't then thats pretty poor.
But assuming we do know- if he is staying, we put a statement out, and that loses us nothing.
I'm not saying we put a statement out but then sack him. I do think, if he is definitely staying, then we stop the stories.
The fact you used the QPR example suggests you think we might get rid of Mancini then??

I think it would achieve a bit of clarity- and as much as anything, I, as a fan, would like to know.
All it needs is one statement. Yet we have let a rumour rumble on, and get to the extent where Mancini is asked about in Press Conferences, and where one of our key decision makers was seen out having lunch with Pellegrinis agent.
It looks, very much like we have at least contacted him, or mused over the idea of changing manager.
IF we are definitely keeping Mancini next season, which we should know by now, then a statement to rubbish stories otherwise would lose us nothing.
How often do we need to state mancini isn't getting sacked?
We said it last summer by giving him a new contract. So are you saying we need to say it this summer to stop rumours?
How about next summer or do we need to put out a statement in january as well? Maybe a weekly bulletin?
So far we have been linked with pretty much every manager in europe. By virtue of the fact we can't be managed by 13 different people it means these reports are complete and utter bollocks.
There is a difference between being speculatively linked with a manager- and having your key decision maker seen having lunch with his agent.
Stories are coming from everywhere now linking us with Pellegrini it seems- it's not just some wild conjecture across Bluemoon.
I understand that rubbishing one story, may set a precedent. But this story seems to have gathered pace, and the sighting with Txiki and the agent adds more foundation to it. All I am saying is, if we are sticking with Mancini, I don't think a statement, or just a comment from someone, rubbishing the ongoing Pellegrini link would harm us.

too hurried for me... no composure, no finesse... he's a decent run about... A young Scott parker
Just remind us all again. What age is he ?? OK so therefore he has a lot of years in front of him to mature into a very good player.Just give the lad a fucking break.
that's true but at the moment he is like a young scott parker but with less ability, he might go on to be a great player but he's not great at the moment.
rodwell is streets ahead.

People have lunch with agents all the time. It means nothing other than to show how desperate people are for any information on city.
And yes, it would harm us to put out a statement.
You either deny nothing or you deny everything - once you start denying some things and not others you are automatically giving credence to certain stories.
City have absolutely nothing to gain by putting out a statement about mancini.
if some fans want a statement just to put their own minds at ease then that's their problem not the club's.
