With respect, that is an utterly ludicrous expectation, because no football team in the history of the game has ever had constant incremental exponential success, regardless of wealth.
It just doesn't work that way, otherwise you would win everything every year, or view the season as a backwards step.
Where would this permanently-on-the-up team go after winning the Champions League?
Win the World Cup?
The fucking Ashes?
Teams have troughs and peaks - it just seems to me that most folk expect permanent peaks at present, and that would be nice, but then so would oral relief off Angelina Jolie tonight, but that is equally unlikely.

With respect, if you're gonna copy and paste my posts, then I'd appreciate it if you'd publish a little more of it, so it makes a bit more sense to the reader, rather than try and make me look like an utter clueless numpty.

I saw your original and it was a good post.

But if you want a change of manager get ready for plenty more misrepresentation, along with the wrath of self-righteousness, from the Forza Crew. Hell hath no fury and all that ;-)

It was a stupid post that made no sense, for reasons I explained.
So if you fancy explaining just how a team can win more and more every year without a blip, then I'm all ears.
And try dropping the tiresome 'inner/outer' Forza Crew bullshit because it is not something I have ever done.
And when it comes to self-righteousness David, I think you own the copyright.

I must've missed something on this thread. Why are we discussing Benitez?

Because it's a question than will provide answers as to why Mancini is below par.

Benitez is point of ridicule here somewhat yet he's bettered Mancini's achievements if he wins the Uefa Cup and he's done so with fans who hate him, players likes Terry who undermine him (hence why he got benched) and has made the most out of what he has at the club rather than bemoaning not having this that and the other.

City come first always and Mancini serv3s out club. We owe him nothing but appreciation. However that appreciation should be just that rather than a reason for him to stay. A manager who won't be kept on by Chelsea has done imo better than our manager yet apparently Mancini must be saved at all costs and yet Rafa is a clown (I don't want Rafa but I think it's a good point to make to show this ridiculous sentimentality biased thought process.).

I think it's a bit pathetic Nip that you seek to undermine Mancini at every possible turn, even going so far as to completely derail threads to make a point.

As for Benitez, I've personally always rated him.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it.

I'm just setting out the stall that Mancini isn't what he cracks up to be and rather than people stating 'grass isn't always so green' then why not embrace change. Mancini has been bettered by an interim coach of a circus club. Not quite this second coming of Christ some would proclaim him to be.

I'm not seeking to ridicule Mancini, the guys done a good job but fucked up this season (if anyone disagrees think back to last summer and ask yourself honestly if you'd be happy with how this season has turned out), I seek to ridicule the people that have lost perspective of the wider picture. If you think Mancini is the man then fair enough but please don't decide to keep based on sentiment. As for backing him, jesus wept, he's had more backing than the fucking Beatles. Just so happened that our wage bill got to crisis point and we had to offload before we bought. Compare him to AVB who had the rug pulled from beneath him and was left with two strikers and both are injury prone yet he's still on target and hasn't whined all season about being failed by the board. He wanted Moutinho and got Siggurdson, he wanted James Rodriguez and got Dempsey. He wanted Damaio or Remy and got nobody.

All I'm saying is City come first and we owe Mancini nothing (but gratitude for our success) as he's simply done his job. He's not done his job to the standard set out this season and if he goes he has himself to blame and even though he has a few excuses the fault really does start at his feet.

I understand that mate, but i doubt benarbia has pelligrinis ear????

I know how it works, people release stories to get more money, force clubs hands etc

Pelligrini doesn't gain anything by releasing anything to the press a week before the cup final does he?

Bernarbia has heard a rumour that has been around for a long time now and seems to be gaining momentum by the day. I'm not saying it's gospel, but it's folly just to dismiss it given the current "back story": The meeting last week. The leaks from Chile- and now Spain. Many, many people are involved in an expensive football transaction and football people love to gossip.

So i may aswell start a new thread saying "pants to start the fa cup final" "mourinho to chelsea done deal"

It hardly makes him the fucking insider does it?

What on earth are you talking about?

-- Tue May 07, 2013 11:27 am --

...and breathe, NF.

Take a few seconds just to breathe.

There. That's better. It's only football. Mancini won't become destitute.

Word is he's already fixed himself up ;-)

Yet Benitez was always tactically outclassed by Mancini everytime we met.And as far as Terry goes atleast when he is on the pitch he is giving 100% unlike a certain Dzeko who for some reason is just not motivated enough (Even Terry and Lampard gets benched but each time they play they give their all atleast). And its Chelsea fans and Rags who thinks Rafa is a clown.

Rafa called it perfectly in the FA Cup when the chips were down. Team in Russian on Thursday and then plays a strong City team on Sunday. 2-0 down, his subs were perfect, they scored instantly and then Torres should have had a penalty and Aguero sent off. We were the better side that day but he did a good job as manager in all fairness.

Who do you blame for Dzeko?

Dzeko was failed by Mancini and is the epitome of a player with no confidence who is treading water in the hope he gets a move. The same Dzeko that saved his job v QPR when he scored the second.

Compare Dzeko v Spurs last season to the Dzeko of this season. That's what inadequate man management does for you. If Mancini likes you then you're fine, if he sees you as pivotal player then you're ok, if not you're doomed.

he hasn't heard a rumour, 90% of the nobs on here that say theyve heard something, havn't.

Posting something youve seen in a newspaper or heard on talksport, doesn't make you the insider does it?

I would simply say Mancini has earned the right for a decent send-off this weekend.

Whatever comes out in the next week to ten days, his name will be there in the history books.

Have never made any secret that I believe the next step needs to be taken with a new hand on the wheel, and have felt for a long time it will be Pellegrini's

For what it's worth, I was told 24 hours prior Hughes was to be sacked at the Sunderland game.

And for what it's worth this time, I have been told we are very close to nailing down an agreement with Isco.

That could mean anything at this stage.
