The question is not how much they spent , the question should be asked ; who fuc**** identified Garcia , when Moutinho , Mulumbu , Borja Vlaero and Montolivo were all available for cheaper amount.
Buying Rodwell was plain stupidity , when prospects like Paulinho , Maher , Jordy Clasie were available. Rodwell is talented , no one is denying that and hope he becomes a top player in a City shirt , but i fear he is destined to be another Jermaine Jenas .
If we had bought decent players rather than wasting money on Rodwell or Garcia , we would have been able to spend the money that we saved , to target Jeremain Lens or Majeed Waris.
Now we are appear to be interested in Peruzzi , when we should have bought him before the start of the season , he could also come cheaper than Maicon.

Nobody enforced these signings on Mancini , and he should be sacked(hopefully) for being so much wasteful with the money.
It's not yors don't get so angry

Bet he wins the treble on Champ Manager.
I was thinking the same

With the Sith Lord retiring it would be insane to fire a settled manager who is well on his way to building his desired squad. Give him the cheque book and another year and I think next season will be ours.

THIS.

Mancini has done well in his 3.5 years here, aside from the shambles in Europe. That being said, next season our main two rivals are changing managers. We keep Mancini and we will walk the league. He also deserves another shot in Europe as both previous campaigns we mysteriously landed in the group of death. Back him properly in the transfer window and let him have one more crack. Sick of this pellegrini nonsense.

we won't "walk the league" - IIRC Mourinho won it in his first season at Chelsea last time so lets not be smug and right them off, and he is walking into a better team now than he did last time

Really? The season prior to Jose arriving Chelsea finished 2nd and got to the SF of the CL. Chelsea then bought Drogba, Cech et al and steamrollered to the title. Having won the title they then spent another £111m on players to keep the momentum going - something we didn't do.

There is no doubt that whoever the Chelsea boss is next season with further spending on top of the investment already made over the last two years they will be a strong title contender but when Jose took over first time round Chelsea were in a better position then they are now.

We can talk all we want about who our next manager should be but without significant investment in the summer it may all be a tad moot.

Should he not also get some credit for the signing of Nastasic or does he not count. We can all pluck names from FM but as far as I can see spending £180m nett in seven transfer windows and adding Nastasic, Yaya, Silva, Aguero, Milner for a start isnt particularly wasteful.

And as I'm sure you know transfers (good and bad) are not the sole responsibility of the manager.

If we had bought Nastasic instead of Savic , when he was available at Partizan , Mancini would have got the credit .

I don't play FM , some of the scouts at Frankfurt talked to me about these targets and that Veh was interested in them( different topic).
Every manager wants aforementioned names to play for their team and would have bought them if they had bottomless supply of money like Mancini enjoyed.

I think you have to be completely insane to think we'll walk the league next year.

If Mourinho goes to Chelsea he'll have money and an already talented squad. Their GD matches ours already and they've been "hampered" by a deep Europa run. They'll absolutely be challenging for the title next season.

United just took the title by probably around 10 points. Moyes can manage a team, as he's proven against us repeatedly with Everton. They've got talent, they'll be there.

Liverpool, Arsenal, maybe Spurs if they don't lose Bale....next season is going to be more competitive than this one was, regardless of who is managing Manchester City.

It certainly will be more competetive. Which is why we need a manager who can make the team greater than the sum of its parts.

Everyone keeps going on about keeping Mancini so we can use our relative stability as an advantage against Utd next season...

Does anyone think Fergie is actually leaving Utd? He's moving upstairs, he'll still be around, to offer advice to Moyes (who is a very capable manager) and to pick up the pieces if things go wrong. It's not going to affect them at all, it may even make them stronger as they will have a manager who can be what Ferguson wishes he still was, rather than one who was having to become increasingly hands off due to his growing health problems.

If you think we should keep Mancini just to win by default next season then you need to pull your head out of the sand. This is not even taking into consideration the probable re-emergence of the Mourinho-machine.

So bacon face is going to be bullying the refs from the boardroom then? Is he going to be popping down to do the team talks and run training? He may still be around but things are going to change once he is no longer manager. I wouldn't dare suggest we'd piss the league cos the rags still have a good squad but to suggest nothing will change after a team has lost their 26 year long dictator is complete bollocks.
Perhaps in match they might get stronger as Moyes is actually slightly more tactically astute than Ferguson, at least that's what I think from watching our matches against their two respective sides. Apart from that I can't see where Moyes will fail to cover anything Ferguson would have, they are cut from the same cloth, and if he does Fergie will be looking over his shoulder to help him out. The pair have long enjoyed an almost student-mentor relationship so I can't any disharmony in that relationship either.

Still, I guess we can cross our fingers and hope ;)

Right so no credit for the ones that work, all the blame for the ones that dont.

£180m over seven transfer windows us not a bottomless suply of money and I wonder why so many people need to exaggerate our spending to prove a point about Mancini.

And like I said transfers good and bad are not the sole responsibility of any one person. But over his time at the club we've had good value for the money we've spent.

But you'd already know that I'm sure.

Yeah that worked well with Busby and McGuinness!

So what happens when (and it will happen) Moyes makes a decision that Ferguson strongly disagrees with or Moyes has a bust-up with a senior player and the player goes whining to Ferguson? Senior players consulting Busby was one of the things that undermined McGuinness and ultimately led to the decline that ended with relegation. Sadly I don't see them getting relegated this time but similar problems could lead to them missing out on a CL place at some point.
