Should he not also get some credit for the signing of Nastasic or does he not count. We can all pluck names from FM but as far as I can see spending £180m nett in seven transfer windows and adding Nastasic, Yaya, Silva, Aguero, Milner for a start isnt particularly wasteful.

And as I'm sure you know transfers (good and bad) are not the sole responsibility of the manager.

If we had bought Nastasic instead of Savic , when he was available at Partizan , Mancini would have got the credit .

I don't play FM , some of the scouts at Frankfurt talked to me about these targets and that Veh was interested in them( different topic).
Every manager wants aforementioned names to play for their team and would have bought them if they had bottomless supply of money like Mancini enjoyed.

It must be terrible following a team that's currently going through the most successful period in nearly half a decade and not be able to fully enjoy it because you don't rate the manager. Just enjoy the good times and stop sounding like those horrible cunts from the outskirts of Manchester.. Obviously if you sound like one because you are then my apologies.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has hit out at claims that he is set to lose his job if he is unable to secure victory in the FA Cup final this weekend.

City meet Wigan at Wembley on Saturday in a match that represents Mancini's last opportunity to claim a major honour this season.

With last year's Premier League champions having relinquished their crown to rivals Manchester United this term it has been suggested that defeat at Wembley could signal the end of the Italian's reign at the Etihad Stadium.

Mancini, however, is adamant that he will still be around at the club next season regardless of the result on Saturday.

"These are fantasy stories from the English press. It's absolutely not true and I have never been worrying about them," he told Gazzetta dello Sport. "They criticise me because of the second place, but if this is the reason, all the Premier League managers should be sacked apart from Alex Ferguson, who won the Premier League, and [Michael] Laudrup, who won the League Cup."

The City boss feels he has been treated unfairly by the press given his track record of having secured the Premier League title, the FA Cup and the Community Shield since arriving at the club in 2009.

"The real reason why they act like this is because I am an Italian manager and because City broke the cartel," he said. "Until a couple of years ago, English football and its earnings were in the hands of Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal. Now there is also City and this annoys someone. From 2011 to date, City have won three trophies and if we will win this FA Cup the trophies could be four - not too bad for a club that hasn't been winning for 35 years."

German by birth , attended some of the games in 97 as a kid when my father was seconded to England. If i qualify for the apology then i accept it , just a difference in opinion , otherwise i think we both want the betterment of the Club.

Everyone keeps going on about keeping Mancini so we can use our relative stability as an advantage against Utd next season...

Does anyone think Fergie is actually leaving Utd? He's moving upstairs, he'll still be around, to offer advice to Moyes (who is a very capable manager) and to pick up the pieces if things go wrong. It's not going to affect them at all, it may even make them stronger as they will have a manager who can be what Ferguson wishes he still was, rather than one who was having to become increasingly hands off due to his growing health problems.

If you think we should keep Mancini just to win by default next season then you need to pull your head out of the sand. This is not even taking into consideration the probable re-emergence of the Mourinho-machine.

Yeah that worked well with Busby and McGuinness!

So what happens when (and it will happen) Moyes makes a decision that Ferguson strongly disagrees with or Moyes has a bust-up with a senior player and the player goes whining to Ferguson? Senior players consulting Busby was one of the things that undermined McGuinness and ultimately led to the decline that ended with relegation. Sadly I don't see them getting relegated this time but similar problems could lead to them missing out on a CL place at some point.
Guess it depends whether Ferguson cares more about his ego than the success of Utd, and how solid Moyes and Ferguson's relationship is (supposedly it is excellent).

I'd rather rely on matters in our own hands, but if you want to rely on something like that happening for us to be successful then it's your choice ;)

It's all very simple for me, we keep Mancini I'm happy, we don't I'm a bit disappointed but still happy. It's such a blessed time to follow City there really is no way to look at it in any other than a positive light. I know the football purists and armchair managers like to look at it in more detail but to tell you the truth I'm content with my own way, a way which will include my 5th trip to wembley in 3 years when before that it had been once in 30!

Where did I say I was relying on it, I was simply replying to your suggestion that all will be sweetness and light with Ferguson and Moyes at the helm.
