the time for stability is now IMO,

with the rags situation, we need constancy and to push on.

taking a risk on pellegrini isn't the answer. get the signings done and give mancini another whack at it.

kompany was a midfielder when we bought him.you are right bobby has improved these players, but without hughes they wouldnt be playing for us imo and hughes could have done the same thing

add to that i think hughes was the one who put kompany at CB instead of midfield. Lescott was one of our best players in the title winning season.

Hughes played VK at centre back when he had too, not by choice. Mancini turned City in the best defensive unit in the Prem for 3 consecutive years with virtually the same defenders that Hughes had. If Leslie was capable of doing that, why then did he flirt with relegation ?
I'm not Mancini's biggest fan but I can see that he's built one hell of a defensive unit and dismissing his achievement and saying one of the worst managers in the league could have done the same is ridiculous.

i havent said that i agree hes built one hell of a defensive unit. Just stating that a lot of that is to do with hughes and his signings. When hughes was the manager we were a top six seven team, difference is mancini added that extra quality- silva, ageuro, nasri that we needed. Whos to say that if hughes had have bought those players we would of won the league ???

Maybe not, but there is no denying hughes built the foundation of the team we have now.

Unbelievable the revisionist history on here, you couldn't move for people wanting Hughes out on here, now heis somehow responsible for our progression for leaving 5 players that Mancini wanted to keep and in the main who he has brought on tremendously in Kompany, Zabaleta and Lescott.

Correct, I'm sure most blues feel the same way.

you can add tevez as well, basically the spine of our team is mark hughes signings.

Mancini bought milner

Tevez was an ADUG signing and Hughes was so fucking clueless he signed Vinny as a midfielder. It took Mancini to turn Vinny into the world class defender he is now. No way can Leslie take credit for Vinny. You can also credit Mancini with Zabs improvement. Every game he played under Hughes he was a red card waiting to happen. De Jong barely played in our title winning season and was sold. It looks like Lescott is on his way too.

I know there are still a few holdouts on Hughes who maintain that he is in fact, and contrary to all available evidence, 'a good manager'.

But seeing Hughes carefully interviewed against a backdrop of books with titles such as 'Leadership' and 'Winning' and trying not to look too desperate as he made his subtle pitch for the Everton job has put me in the best of moods so along with every QPR fan I'll raise a toast to the Welsh wizard and wish him a speedy return to the premiership. And if that return is at Everton then for all their fans may God have mercy on your souls. You'll fucking need it.

I don't think you've been a blue for very long

You're one of these know it alls who pretend to know about european footy (got owned there) and now you're pretending to know about our reserves (geting owned again)

Football snobs like you spout off long lists of EDS players not because you've ever seen them play or know what qualities they have but purely to make yourself seem more knowledgable than the average fan.

I don't know a thing about our kids - haven't seen them play since we beat Chelsea in the youth cup final but I know people who know lots about 'em. Roberto and David they're called and if they thought player X,Y or Z could do the job then they'd play em.

Give it up pal, it's pitiful to read

Comedy post.

A guy whose maturity level stands at the level of calling people 'owned' gives a poster a mouthful for happening to know more about both European football and city than him.

Cracking stuff.

You mean the German who said he's been to a few games in 1997 and that's what qualifies to being an all seeing expert on City?
If you agree with his assessment that all the young players he mentioned deserve to be starting for us then I'd say its your own post that is cracking stuff.

No harm in adding Hart as well,a Pearce signing,or Richards,a youth product.

Not bad foundations for a half decent boss......
If you're going to include Hart you can give as much credit to Alex McLeish than anyone

And even Richards has cited Mancini as important to his development.
