Mancini: Are you an 'inner' or an 'outer'?

5th may 2010 has never been forgotten by me. After weeks of assuring everybody we would finish 4th we didn't. I have mellowed somewhat over the years towards Bobby although I still believe we won the title in spite of and not because of him. This whole Mancini debate has got rather tedious now in any case. He's going to get another crack at the champions league, after that who knows?

If we want stability, then in undoubtedly.
If we want progress in the CL, then out unfortunately. I don't think Bob is tactically cute enough to compete with Europe's elite.
Don't know how you can say that.

We gave Real Madrid, the side that knocked the Might that is Manchester United out of the CL, a good game and we drew at home and were well beaten away by a very very good Borossi Dortmund side. I dare to suggest with devilish confidence that no English side would have qualified from that group. Last Season we accumulated a number of points that would have qualified us in the prvious x years.

I accept that it was disappointing but when you look at the draws we had I feel it is unfair to place the blame with Mancini by suggesting we need rid of him to progress.

I would accept another couple of years of CL football without progressing, that said .... One FA Cup Final win, One Premiership title, One Community Shield, Probable second place this season and still a great chance to win the FA Cup... not bad productivity for a three year tenure (especially when you look at what happened in the preceding years)

I think if Bobby gets his way with the Summer purchases we are going to be right back in it next year.

In every day of the week for me.

Yawn

These threads are getting tiresome now.

Seems to be the same posters popping up on various threads (some with even the most tenuous connection to Mancini - if any at all) and agitating for a response.

Same arguments are repeated ad infinitum all over Bluemoon.

Bored

Haha. No, I think the biggest yawn on here are posts saying what a yawn this thread or that thread are. If I find a thread boring / uninteresting I don't tend to read it never mind post in it.

And as for these supposed "anti Mancini" threads being an embarrassment, they only are because they grow so big - mainly cos whenever theres a post slightly critical of him all those Mancini worshippers feel they just have to respond.

If he's to be replaced by Warnock, an inner.
If its the likes of Mourinho, Klopp, Ancelotti an outer.

Can I add Benitez too?
;-)

outer i`m afraid.

we dont seem to get the best from our great squad.

mancini seems to have poor man management skills with little if any rapore with the players.

Im sure some will bite fella..

unfortunately i`m deadly serious. you may not like it, i wish i didnt have cause to think it. but too many times i`ve seen hand brake football played by the best squad of footballers ever to grace this club an imo the best collection of players in premiership history.

In or Out?

Just be very careful of what you wish for.

Incredible as it may seem to some who post on here, we had similar arguments over Joe versus Big Mal. Basically, there was a boardroom power struggle and at the same time, Juventus were after Mal as their new manager. Mal said he'd stay ONLY if he became City's manager in place of Joe, and the incoming Peter Swales duly obliged by sidelining Joe into a position whereby he had no option but to quit City. The fans were divided, some of whom could be classed as 'outers' wanting a flamboyant manager of the Mourinho mould to have sole command, whereas the 'inners' wanted the safe and steady Joe to remain in the hope that if Mal did go, Joe would find another able assistant.

Anyway, Mal won, Joe went, and although the club managed to hold firm for a few more years, albeit with a steady turnover of managers, it was never again the same and many of us felt we were being robbed of potential greatness, which proved to be from the 1980s onwards.

Now that I've said my bit, class me as an 'Inner' based on our history, and I'll leave this thread for others to do the arguing.

bang on the money that man.

Why? Its a ridiculous argument.................utter nonsense. May as well be asking if they had similar star signs! Im not going to bother going over yet again why I dont want Mancini - but IF we keep him - lets see whose right in a years time. Even with another 200m spent I dont believe Mancini will get us the success in CL that the owners will require for his 500m spend.

way off the mark that man.

I'm leaning towards outer. I love Mancini and what's he's done for the club but I think he may have run his coarse. Somethin is really off in the clubhouse this year. Too many guys have had a poor season and looked disinterested too often. If it was 1 or 2 players then you can calk it up to those players. But there have been way too many for it not to be something more than just an off year. Too many players have fallen out with him. Don't like how he rips them in the media either. I just think the team doesn't beelieve in him anymore and if that's the case, no matter how successful he's been he would have to go. Just like Mourinho has lost his club and he has to go. Yes we finished second but 15 points of second isn't being competitive for the league and to only be 7 points ahead of Arsenal who has been awful for most of the season bothers me. The fact that we have only realy played well in a handful of games this year isn't acceptable. To not get a single win in CL this year was embarising. We got played off the pitch in nearly every game.

Good post, well except 90℅ of it is wrong.

Couldn't agree more with this summary!
Mancini hasn't got the best of the squad and is too confrontational for me
Can't for the life of me see who would be enticed to come and play for him over other top managers.
We have reached a glass ceiling as far as Mancini is concerned
It has to be a change to reach a new level
Baconface would have walked the league with our squad, no one can deny that!
