Mancini - Balotelli

Yeah, I wouldn't because I know there's a member of staff who watches the tv feed, and then reports on things the staff may have missed back to them.
Maybe in the heat of a very important match it wasn't passed back to him, in which case the video man has fucked up.

You make no bones about the fact you want rid of Mancini, so you will select anything to be negative about him, me, I'm not particularly with the fella right now either, but I'm not going to claim he's a liar to crucify him further.

why should Bobby be any different from every other manager in the league? I don't don't see the 'greatest manager in the history of the world ever' (tm) being criticised forlooking after his own, for example

Looking after his own? What by saying that he hopes the FA ban Mario? Or by saying he doesn't trust him? Or by saying he's ruining his own career?

Baffling doesn't even begin to describe the things Mancini says in comparison with his actions.

IMO, i think Mancini said he hopes they ban him to stop the press being able to catch him out, he had that answer ready so was waiting for the question to be asked. It stumbled the man interviewing Mancini

Everyone here knows I love Mario, but the one thing that disgusted me more than his red and other shocking behaviours was this:

He gets sent off, and we need all the time we can get to maybe steal some sort of result,

and he just walks gingerly...the same kind of pace when players walk when they need to waste time and their team is 1-0 up injury time.

Mancini tells him to get the fuck off the pitch, and he just jogs in a manner that really fucking got under my skin.
Me too, it annoyed the f**k out of me.
You're telling me mate.

I've never felt so disgusted towards a player...that one moment really lit me.

I'm probably in the minority, but his sending offs in other matches, and let downs for 2 seasons don't even compare to the feelings that this small moment induced.

Mancini plays him no matter what's going on his life. He has no discipline because he's never been disciplined.

You disappoint me Cleavers. Up until this morning I have done nothing but reiterate that I believe Mancini's deserves another season. I make no bones about the fact that tonight I think he needs to go - primarily because it looked like a lot of the players just didn't want to play for him today in what was such a big game.

As for me claiming he's a liar, once again I'll reiterate, and it's just my opinion, I believe it is inconceivable that nobody went to Mancini at half time told him about the challenge and also suggested Mario needs to come off.

to be honest, i'm really annoyed by what's happened over the past couple of weeks.

Where's our professionalism? where's the team spirit? where's the desire?

maybe so and maybe Mancini chose to keep him on anyhow

would sour alex do any different?

not a chance

but it's all hypothetical anyway

Mancini's done very well for us.
- We've had a brilliant home record
- We've developed a 'fight back' mentality (that we rarely had before)
- We've seen some amazingly attractive football

But nobody's perfect and we have to try an accept his flaws:

- He appears stubborn / persistent with some players but too quick to judge with others (sentimental streak with Balo, Kolarov, Savic?)
- He's possibly overstated the ability of some players (Balo can be one of the best in the world) whilst not praised others (ie. Milner showed the fighting spirit and will to win that we need to be champions)

All in all, that's not too bad. Every manager has their quirks. I just fear that the favouritism (or PERCEIVED favouritism) must ultimately get to some players on the fringes of the first 11... Milner, Johnson, Clichy etc

Couple that with the TWO mavericks (Tevez and Balo) and it's just a tad much to keep a settled squad. One maverick, who's not too extreme might be OK, but two of them... who are both pretty extreme is madness.

And extreme?... I think ultimately both are. A player who can go missing for 4 months is pretty extreme. And a player who gets set off three times and is lucky not to have broken a player's leg in nothing but a moment of petulance... I think that's extreme.

If Mancini can lose Tevez (sorely missed on the pitch) and Balo and replace with dependable, down to earth players... plus a bit more cover at the back... we should be fine.

And I swear this is no joke... I'd LOVE to take a gamble on Torres. He'd get a lot more chances at City, he can hold the ball up well, and he's a great player even though not scoring in abundance. I just feel he could really shine again at City (swap for Tevez?) oh and he can use his size well... something Dzeko doesn't do so well.

Why do you keep going on about the rags and slur alex? I'm not interested in what they do with their players. I'm interested in how Mancini manages our players. It was the wrong decision to leave Mario on the pitch. His red card was inevitable, but more importantly, his performance coupled with that challenge should've ensured he was the first player hooked.

Fine be disappointed,I'm just giving my opinion, and I'm not arsed about getting into an argument with you. I've no idea (like you funnily enough) what happened at half time, but I'd hope they were too busy worrying about how to change what had gone on in the other 44 minutes of the first half.

The evidence suggests otherwise, as the second half followed the same pattern as the first, as well as Sunderland, Stoke, and Swansea. Balo today was a side show in many ways, he should have been off after 15 minutes, but he wasn't, and otherwise he contributed little or nothing, he got a red in the end for a nothing challenge that most refs would not have given a yellow, but I guess Atkinson had seen the first half assault, even if Mancini hadn't.
