Mancini blames Hart for defeat

The corrosive nature of Mancini's personality seems to be coming to the fore again this season. My personal opinion is that if he alienates Joe, Lescott, Milner, etc then he's finished at the club.

Have to agree with this comment...it can't be coincidence that so many of the squad are totally off form. The players may now that something is going on behind the scenes (as much as we can argue that it might not)

Player vs manager - back the manager every time. We don't want a tail wagging the dog situation like Chelsea's got so if someone is stirring they can fuck off out of the club as far as I'm concerned.

I actually think we're very lucky to have a very professional squad of players. There's no way they'd ever do to Mancini what the Chelsea players did to AVB (and Scolari) and just down tools. I think they have too much respect for our owners to ever fuck around like that.

Yeah, I can see that. The "core" of the team is very professional, they are outright winners. You won't get Hart, Komps, Nastasic, Zab, Clichy, Barry or Milner going out there half-arsed. But if the squad feels demotivated we could easily get a collective lack of belief. To be fair, we haven't shown signs of letting our heads go down much this season and have faught back many times.

-- Tue Dec 11, 2012 10:14 am --

If the majority of the squad lose collective belief and trust in the manager you might as well write his P45 out now because he's finished. Make no bones about that.

If Mancini keeps selling players who he's pissed off to the point where they feel the need to go to the media then he'll have a dressing room of 1. The problem lies with him and not with the players and it's disgraceful that he continues to pick public battles with his squad. The guy just never learns. He's going to pay with his job though.

There have been reasons why all three would be pissed off with him recently. I've a hunch Lescott has had a bust up with him too as he appears to be getting the same cold shoulder we've seen others get when they've stepped out of line.

If we slip away further in the title race I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see more stories. Players know they can play their part and I wouldn't be surprised if this was the start of it.

The biggest concern is if performances on the pitch slip.

I have a hunch that Lescott isnt happy because Nastasic is deservedly being picked ahead of him, and doesn't look like losing his place.

Haven't read the whole thread, but I did wonder if Hart could have done better with their winning goal.

Whether 3 or 4 in the wall is debatable (Nasri making it 2 didn't help.) But Hart was less than 4 yards from his right hand post when RVP took is shot. I would say no more than 8 or 9 feet. And yes the ball took a slight deflection, but even so Hart was moving to his right (i.e. the right way) miles before the ball arrived.

Should have kept it out imho.

I am with you Chippy.I was in 328 and was more or less behind the line of the shot at the free kick.

Hart seemed to line up the wall and then suddenly move over to his left to recheck it and was then out of position as the free kick was taken.
He was scrambling across to his right and was nowhere near the ball as it went in.
Surely if Nasri moves out of the way of the ball (as he evidently did) then Hart if he stays in position on the right hand post just catches the ball as he sees more of it coming at him.

Also I thought he should have reacted to the first goal and at least dived.

IMHO Hart had a shocker!

Theres a difference between losing belief and stirring the pot. If it's the latter (whether the manager gets his P45 or not) we don't need them at the club.

But Mancini has apparently lost the dressing room so many times now (I'm surprised they haven't installed a tracking device) I'm not going to worry too much about any latest rumours.

There's no doubt that's the case and I wouldn't expect anything different from a pro like LEscott. But there have been times recently he hasn't even made the squad, that's what I'm referring to.

Like I said in another post he's apparently lost the dressing room so many times now I'm inclined not to believe every bit of gossip that suggests he's done so again.

If players need to go to the media, they can start planning their next club as far as I'm concerned, and thats whether the manager stays or not.

Yes I think he has got until the end of the season.
If we don't retain the Premiership I think he is out - I have always thought that his 5 year contract was an above board bonus for winning the league rather than give him a brown envelope.
