Hopefully someone with some knowledge of Spanish football can shed some light on this for me...

Were our 2 Spanish Exec's in power at Barca during the period prior to them becoming successful or is it acknowledged that they were part of the solution to the problems there during the Ryjkard era? If I remember right Barca were all over the place...

I'm worried that these 2 guys have brought the political nonsense with them...

It seems to me that things really have been going downhill since they arrived.

The undermining of RM started almost straight away.

I've got nothing but respect for our owners but I'm a bit worried by the 2 spaniards...

I think they came in when Barca were in all kinds of trouble financially/on the pitch... It took then a year or two to sort things out and they then won the league and champions league in 2006 I think.. Things then went very well, before Rossell took over from Laporta and theyboth left the club.

Thanks for the reply, lets hope they are a force for positive change rather than a negative influence.

Still gutted about Roberto...

fuck pellegrini

fuck that, he next city manager. grow up.

Fella for many it's too soon the utter wankishness of how this has been handled added to the debacle yesterday coupled with the way the rags have dealt with ferguson leaving and those rag bastards singing about Mancini being sacked its just too early and once people do get used to it we will be behind the new manager

For my part even though Bobby sent me fucking bananas at times I am utterly gutted for the man and for all those reasons above

I be worth another viewing of the "FC Barcelona Confidential" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQPnbML1WFY for some insight into our executive team

Its a great doco that. Credntiald of both are great, which is no guarantee they'll get things right but it does entitle them to the benefit of the doubt IMO.

They'll live or die by the decisions they make.

Am I missing something? Nothing is on the clubs site, or is me not being in England very detrimental to finding out what is going on?

But what if Pellegrini doesn't win anything next year?

A precedent, by the board, has been set.
they haven't set that precedent at all though that is just your assumption. There could be any number of reasons why Mancini is going. It could be more about consistently huge underperformance of players as opposed to merely not winning a trophy. It could be that he has pissed off the people who own or run the club. It could be that the people who run the club have seen stuff behind the scenes with his relationship with the players and thought it needed addressing. Who knows? We have no idea what precedent has been set by the owners because we don't know exactly why they are sacking him.
Nobody knows what's going on, so nobody's assumption holds more weight than another's.

To disregard any, out if sight and out of mind isn't right though.

I'm not disregarding your assumption. I accept that there is a possiblity that he may get sacked solely for not winning anything and that that precedent may be set. Personally I seriously doubt it though, I have much more faith in our owner than that and I'm convinced it won't be as black and white as trophy/no trophy. The reason I said that the precedent you mentioned has not been set is because they have not set any precedent at all as yet. They haven't even sacked him as far as I know let alone given a reason behind it. And as long as they don't come out publicly and say they sacked him solely because he didn't win a trophy this season then as far as I am concerned that precedent hasn't been set. And I doubt they will be as crass as to say that.
