Only partially true, as Hart, Kompany, Richards, Zabs, Kolo, Barry and Tevez were already in place. However, I thank you for proving my point. No Sheikh, no rattle, no roll...
Hart who was out on loan and considering his options; Kompany who more often than not was on the bench as a back up midfielder; Richards who had regressed since coming into the side and was considered out of shape with little positional sense; Zaba who was a utility player with no fixed role; Kolo and Lescott who looked all at sea as a defensive partnership and were leaking poor goals. Assembling a team isn’t about simply buying the players, it’s about understanding the talents of those you inherit in order to get a better performance out of them – which is what Mancini did for the above mentioned.
