Mancini ; I stay at City

The highlight of the thread has to be Mancio calling Billy shears a rag. I think everyone can agree, weather you agree with his opinions or not, he is no rag. He was here in the dark days, a regular good poster and you can tell he cares about the club in every post.

he cares about the club in every post.

Out of frustration! How many times have you said things off the cuff in regards to city? In the Pearce days I promised myself I wouldn't go again because it was soul destroying etc, still went back though.
Mancio, a man who only started supporting us since Mancini was appointed calling a long serving member on here a rag is very rich

He broke that record after Juve got relegated, Milan and Fiorentina got docked a bunch of points - and of course most importantly - Mancini got the given the best player in the league outside of maybe Kaka...and certainly the most potent goal scorer in the league.

Mancini's record at Inter will always be seen through the prism of Calciopoli....

How does the bit in bold affect how many games Mancini won on the trot? Not having a go, serious question.

how did Barca break a Serie A record exactly?

Mancini won 17 straight games in Serie A, a record that broke the previous record by 6 games and has only recently been bested by Barca.

Actually what you are saying doesn't really come close to telling the whole story.

Juventus were relegated, but as already stated, Inter won 17 games in a row and finished the season on 97 points. I'd imagine 97 points would have won them the league in any season.

Fiorentina were deducted 15 points but even without that deduction they would have still finished 24 points behind Inter. Milan were deducted 8 points but again, even without that deduction, they would have finished 28 points behind Inter. Their closest rivals were Roma and they finsihed 22 points behind Inter, without any deductions.

The thing with Ibrahimovic also doesn't really tell the full story. First of all, he wasn't that prolific when he played for Juventus. He wasn't even played as an out and out striker in a number of games. His goal-scoring record was worse than 1 in 3.

His first season at Inter was 06/07 (the season described above). He only scored 15 league goals. 3 less than Rolando Bianchi, and only 5 more than Marco Materazzi. Inter scored 80 league goals. In other words, 65 goals weren't scored by him.

I've seen plenty of articles that discredit Mancini for his achievements in Italy, but they all have one thing in common. They're ill-researched and the match fixing scandal is always brought up to downplay his achievement. Your post is no different. What Mancini is doing here pretty much mirrors what he was doing at Inter. I don't see how anybody can have any complaints about that.

You are making the mistake of letting the facts get in the way of the usual anti-Mancini bollocks.

Some are clearly fuming that he is cementing his position at City by actually succeeding where all along they were adamant he would fail, and personally I would question the allegiance of anyone who wants City to fail just so they can be proven 'right all along' on a fucking messageboard.

Not rags, no doubt, but there are other words for what they are, and 'City supporters' aren't two of them IMO.

With the caveat that this is taken at face value for accuracy; excellent post and I'm not Mancini's No.1 fan.

I highly doubt if he will reply to your post.

Mancini's a disgrace, what was he thinking - not cheating in order to win trophies... There doesn't appear to be a depth to which some Mancini haters (and I think it's legitimate to call them that now) will not sink. Mancini doesn't cheat, the two teams above Inter do, so let's sell Mancini short for doing the right thing and competing fairly and getting rewarded for it. It's so rare to see justice done and yet some people will use it as a stick to beat him with.
