Maybe. But for all the folk who say Mancini fucked up at City so did Soriano at said airline.

If you look at his CV he is a MBA management type. The world is absolutely full of them. Generally they are about as interesting as watching paint dry. Mancini on the other hand is a passionate know it all who has a temper. Never was gonna work.

The difference between Soriano and Mancini is that Soriano works for City, Mancini doesn't. On that basis I know where my loyalty lies. Maybe you should ask yourself why you're so desperate to defend a former employee whilst continuing to make snide digs about a man who comes with the kind of reputation in football which means he chose where he wanted to work without having to stick his arse out the window and scream "look how fit I am!".

Same old story, Billy, as it's MCFC fans vs. Mancini FC fans. Maybe they'll get another chance to root for their hero when he replaces Mark Hughes at Stoke City.

Surely as you wrote that you must have felt some irony.

I have said elsewhere that while I supported Mancini, I have moved on and am genuinely excited by what Pelle will bring to the table. Ferran and Txiki have arrived with reputations just like Mancini did, and it is what they achieve here that interests us all.

Obviously Mancini's comments were bound to lead to a very long afternoon/evening on here. That is what drives a forum as you say.

It's difficult not to be when the factions squabble.
The most amusing thing is the reversal. Now The Cabal are now the tubthumpers proclaiming dissenters of the Spanish Duo are maniacs for being critical and The Bottomfeeders are now the dissenters claiming they're doing nothing but having an opinion - the classic Cabal defence. I'm enjoying it thoroughly. It's like wrestling. One day there's a goody, and a baddy, then the switch, and everyone acts like nothing has happened. It's piss funny.
Bingo!

How come when Mancini worked for City your loyalty didnt lie there.

I wonder if you were loyal to Mr Swales when he worked for City.

So on what basis does your loyalty actually work?

Now that is ridiculous. I imagine you put your love of City ahead of your hatred of Mancini.
Likewise for me City comes first.

You and Skas are wrong. The cabal is defending a duo that have until yet done nothing wrong.

Definitely!

But the arse out the window screaming "look at me" comment wasn't half as effective without the loyalty line ... :)

-- Thu Jul 04, 2013 8:38 pm --

He calls for respect yet completely disrespects Soriano? The mind boggles.

maybe with good reason.

Hush now you wanted Mancini out two years ago!

A top class manager badly let down by his players last season. The season we won the league we played some breathtaking football, some of the best I have ever seen us play but players turned on him and when that happens if the club does'nt back the manager to the hilt he has to go.Personally I am from a time when the tail should'nt wag the dog and I would have been happy to see half a dozen shipped out but the powers that be went the other way.
As Bobby would say this eeez football,as fans we pick ourselves up and back the new guy and the team but some players need to take a long hard look at themselves.I hope they find Pelli to their liking or they will let him down also. This kind of shit is like a cancer in a club and it should be cut out rather than tolerated.
I am a big fan of Bobby's but City come before any owner, manager, player or member of staff and unlike some on here I don't want us to fail just to prove a point and be able to crow about how my opinion was right. To me the club is more important than that.

That's not true though is it? It's possible to retain some affection for a manager that helped bring such good memories in a 3 year window and still accept that the time was right for him to move on.
Trying to make out that if you were an "inner" means you want only success for Mancini and don't care about the good of the club is ridiculous.
