You see this is where you stand out blue heaven on your lack of knowledge of city fans
I shouldnt imagine there's one blue who loves Mancini more than city
Especially match going blues, something you wouldn't understand

I thought he was great and brought two of the greatest days of my life
He's gone now though and all my support goes behind the next fella in Mr Pellegrini.
Hear hear!!

Speak of the devil! Can you remind us all again when you got your first season ticket. 1974? Massive.

I take it you're going to give your mate Blue Heaven a ticking off for labelling people as Mancini FC fans?

I don't get the hatred on here towards Mancini, who lest we forget was our most successful manager in many posters lifetimes, including mine and I'm 42.

What exactly did he do to invite such animosity ?

Was it the way he turned around a sinking ship that was heading to mid table obscurity (at best) despite having multi millions spunked on it by this generations Alan Ball and within little more than a season had won an fa cup and a third placed league finish? Our first trophy in 35 years and our best league finish since '77 ?

Was it the first league title in 44 years, playing the best sort of swash-buckling attacking football our team has perhaps EVER played, certainly in the top division?

Was it his refusal to play the "likkle city are ruining football" game with the red tops and other chancers of the fourth estate?

Was it his refusal to bow down to the attempted mind games of football's perhaps greatest exponent of the mind games art. Indeed his ultimate and very public triumph in this contest?

Was it his absolute insistence that as manager he should be "in charge" ?

Was it his refusal to accept anything other than total effort from our under performing players and his inability to hide away from the fact that he believed multi million pound footballers, paid millions a year should put 100% effort in every week or be called out on it?

Was it the way he showed a truculent, spoiled, selfish Tevez that it was his way or the highway? A mere few weeks after "the greatest disciplinarian in the history of the game" had been bent over and forcibly pleasures by the fat granny shagging bastard?

Was it the way he refused to kow tow to gorgeous joe and his lovely dandruff free locks and instead dared to criticise him for basic errors brought on by complacency?

Was it the way he clearly let his team know in no uncertain terms that "if I substitute you, you come off the pitch sharpish. And if you sulk whilst doing so don't expect a pat on the back and a handshake for the cameras" ?

What was it?

It can't be because he has only spent his entire life in the game can it?

I fully understand that for some on here that is not as important or as impressive as bankrupting an airline.

Or snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in the saga of the signing of one of the most exciting young players in the world, even though one of his key remits was to improve our recruitment processes?

Is it simply because Mancini wasn't "involved with Barça"

It's pathetic and thank god it isn't something you see a lot of from real city fans.

If pelle doesn't win the lge and cup in the next two seasons replacing Mancini will be a proven error.

But that'll be alright cos some posters will still be celebrating the disgraceful, unprofessional, and frankly amateurish dismissal of our greatest manager for generations, possibly ever.

Wankers.

I agree entirely, spot on!

Cheers for pointing out my dyslexia. Sometimes no matter how many times I read a post I miss it.

Considering the very short time you've been on this forum I can only assume one of the housewives has been telling you porky pies to try and wind you up. Don't listen to 'em mate. I was behind the sacking of Hughes and even more behind the appointment of Mancini.

Billy, we have met a couple of times and your company is great. I have been on this forum (in another guise- just like you) for many many years. You never could accept that Hughsie was crap and couldn't manage to save his life. When Mancini was appointed you were appauled at the way he was sacked... me and you had many good spat about that!!

See you in the Bulls head 17th August.

Hahaha. That's simply not true mate. Shall I start sticking some posts on here from around the time of Hughes' sacking and Mancini's appointment ? And what was your previous username ? If we have met then you'll have no trouble telling me ... or if you want send me a PM :)
What about posts from before Hughes was sacked?

Thankfully, it's crystal clear that Cook, Hughes, the good Sheikh and his people have a long term plan. These are not the types of people who are going to panic at the first sign of trouble and start sacking everyone left right and centre. My guess is that MH will be around for a few years, as will Gary Cook...

The types of people who come on messageboards and try and drive certain agendas just have too much time, and too little else going on in their lives...

Okay, he hasn't won any major honours as a football manager, but no doubt he will. He has shown a pedigree to manage in the toughest league in the world, when many many others before him have failed miserably

I love the certainty with which people can say "he's not good enough..."

Good enough for what exactly?

He was good enough when we appointed him...

But now we're rich he's not good enough...

Not that you people want overnight success...

It's just that it should come QUICKER now that we're rich...

He might win the league in three years...

But why should he develop with us....when we can have a ready made trophy winning manager...

Not that you people want overnight success...

I've never read so much contradictory drivel in all my life...

Please carry on...it's amusing.
And no more than just a month later...
BillyShears said:
I agree with the vast majority of that...to be honest, I would like Hughes to be replaced yesterday, because I think there are better managers available, especially for a club in our position.
There's so much irony and contradiction in your history regarding Hughes, (never mind hilarity regarding your belief he'll win major honours lol) it's at least refreshing to hear that you apparently flip flopped on Mancini as much too.

Although you seem to be lingering on your obsession with him. For a man who sways so easily you're mightily hard to please

Cheers for pointing out my hypocrisy! :)

If there's one thing I won't hide from it's the changing opinions I had. However my post earlier said when Hughes went I wanted him gone, and when Mancini was appointed I wanted him in.
