I genuinly hope you're right - but so far I'm not overly impressed by them (not just re Mancini). You have clearly nailed your colours to the mast about them - but why???? Yes "Barcelona" but surely you can see the mitigating fortunate factors there at the time - It doesn't mean it will translate here. Like I said - I live in hope - you seem to live in certainty. Don't get me wrong I admire your forthright optimism.

There's many reasons why it didn't work out for Roberto but his attitude and ignorance towards everyone but his own tiny clique of fellow Italians was the root.

I've not got blind faith in Txiki. I rate Pellegrini way higher than Mancini, and when I see the business we are doing I don't see how you can be anything but optimistic. This isn't a transitional season and I don't expect us to do anything other than improve on last season's points tally, and comfortably improve on our abortive recent CL campaigns.

You also rated Hughes higher than Mancini so your opinion is invalid.

Hey Billy.... he has got a point. you did rate Hughes (god only knows why) and you did not rate Mancini... true?

Pathetic and typical Mancini.

Blaming everyone except himself and casually slipping in we were nothing without him.

Funny how he was paying public lip service to the merits of Cheeky AND Soriano when they were first appointed.

Pellegrini is a massive upgrade on Mancini, both as a manager and as a person.

Frankly the level of hatred directed at our former manager is pathetic and bordering on the pathological.

City had won fuck all for 34 years. Now we have had some useless managers over the years, Clarke, Pearce, Benson , McNeill etc but I have never noticed this much hatred for any of them.

Get yourself checked out. And by the way isn't he human and therefore entitled to a moan? I mean he's a football manager and they all do.

I abhor smugness but I knew full well Mancini and his fierce arrogance would be the end of him. I never warmed to the man and I never will. All those wankers singing his name from day one and a particularly memorable anti-Pellegrini contingent at Wembley are looking so stupid.

Soriano made Barcelona the Club they are today. I think he knows a Manager.

He has a point there, we were nothing without him.... well for 44 years at least. A bit more gratitude please!

My gratitude goes only to Sheikh Mansour and Sergio Aguero.

Apparently our history started the day Mancini walked through the door.

We were Manchester City well before him, a team I supported regardless of winning trophies. He is too dismissive of those who put in the hard yards.

Hitler was the same towards the end. When the Blitzkrieg did for Poland, it was all how great he was.

And when the shit started to hit the fan, and some started to stand up to his methods, it was all the fault of his generals.

It took far too many people too long to suss Mancini out. Thankfully, it took Soriano and Cheeky less than six months.

At Barca there were quite a few others involved you know? Spanair anyone?

The man who should be getting the credit is Sheikh Mansour as without him we could only dream of winning the league. The is no way on god's earth that Mancini would have won the league without the financial backing we received. So excuse people if they would prefer to offer their gratitude to the Sheikh rather than a manager who thinks we all owe him something despite only being at City for the money in the first place.

So I take it you didn't enjoy winning the Prem. I agree the Sheikh is the best thing to happen to our club, however, hughes couldn't win it with the massive financial backing he had. I know many managers could have done it and possibly done it better but remember. We went after Mancini and he delivered the FA Cup and Premiership title - respect (that's all) all round I say.

Goodness... Doesn't the man have a right to an opinion? Numerous Managers could've won things with City with the things we have in place yet an arrogant Italian gets considered untouchable? He fucked last season up and failed on all counts.

Tell us all somethin we didn't know!

Even Jesus Christ would have struggled to have won the league with us without the backing of the Sheikh never mind any other manager- so that is a very silly statement.

The vast majority of people (but not all) connected with and paid by the top professional clubs are only there for the money these days.
The 'jumpers for goal posts' era was finally banished with the introduction of the EPL in 1992.

Could you start a ruck in an empty room? You're having a go at everyone! Perhaps it's time to bring Cook and Marwood back... I can't believe anyone would doubt Soriano's credentials in football. That's profound ignorance.

A very poor and unecessary analogy.
