If Mourinho wants the City job this summer I imagine he'll get it...

If he doesn't want it this summer though, that will be that and the Cult Of Jose will have to accept that it just isn't going to happen.

I'm surprised at how many people simply don't want him...you can't argue with the guy's record, and to be quite honest, for all those who hate his arrogance, there are those (myself included), who love it and see it as a breath of fresh air in an otherwise very stale world of football...

Having said all that, I still think we'll finish 4th under Mancini, in which case the correct and proper thing to do would be to give him a blank cheque book and let him finish the job he's started...then again, I'm an idealist rather than a pragmatist...

So Mancio, do you think the majority of Inter fans would rather have Mancini back if Mourinho leaves, or would you want someone new...?

Mancini cant come back at inter , he was sacked in a way that his ego cant forget , at least not so quick , and interists know it very well

josè will be sacked , tonight or at the end of season , personally think Inter in going on Prandelli

They'll want him if he comes, Billy, don't you worry about that - especially if we don't finish in the top 4.

If we do finish in the top 4 there might be a little bit of bluster for a day or so but as soon as the chequebook comes out it will be forgotten.

Ha ha ha! Why is that? Because I want Mancini to stay or because I don't mind Jose's ego?

Or did I post something else controversial without realizing it...;- )

-- Tue Mar 16, 2010 12:35 pm --

Interesting...

But if Morrati and Mancini could kiss and make up, would rather have Mancini back or someone new?

If we do finish 4th, and I also agree that I think we will, it won't be a fluke.

It will mean that Mancini will have taken over a team in terribly difficult circumstances and managed to instill his way of playing into a bunch players who were bought by the previous manager (bar two) and achieved his goal.

It's easy to say at this point in time that Mourinho is the best choice for us because a lot of us are undecided abount Mancini, but if we do actually finish 4th Mancini's stock amongst us will have risen so much who would seriously want to see him fired off then?

Bear in mind, we could finish 4th and turn United, Villa and Spurs (maybe even Arsenal) over along the way. If we do, then Mancini has to stay, and I think the fans would demand it in those circumstances.

Totally agree with this.

I'm despearte for Mancini to do well, to get 4th. to finally get City successful... but if Mourinho is the chosen one then so be it. I certainly wouldn't shed any tears over Mancini if Jose came in.

But what I don't want is for our current excellent manager to be continually undermined and treated as a second choice by the support who apparently crave the Special One... especially as, in my opinion, he has no real interest in coming here and is only using us to get a better deal elsewhere.

I really want Mancini to be the one... he's a decent bloke, doesn't bring the baggage that Jose would bring, and would bring us long-term continued success like he did at Inter.

You can't argue with Jose's record... but you can't argue with baconface's record either, and would I want him?

Maybe Mancini is being looked at closely and early because of the fact that he has a 6 month getout clause in his contract.

If City had signed him up on a 4 year deal and made things permanent, this would not be happening.

Like it or not, lots of people believe he is a temporary appointment and City have done nothing to quell that suspicion.

And also, there's a worrying number of people on this thread saying "well he's a nice guy and he wants to be here"

I'm a nice guy. I'd love the job.

We are at the top table now and some City fans need to adjust to that fact mentally.

I don't want a nice fucking guy, I want success.

If Mancini gets us fourth spot, then there's no doubt he has done a great job. It would be hard to appoint Mourinho or anyone else in that situation. Anyone who rules that out, however, might just get a surprise.

mancini over everybody

Mancini for me. The more i see the style of his play, the more i realise with his own players in the summer we could be on for something very special. Give him time and we'll reap the rewards.

Forgot just what a pompous, odious, egotistical little shit he was.
Oh - and throw in boring football.
Yes he wins things - but so would John Barnes at the Clubs he's been at!
Typical tabloid press myths about Mourinho. Instead of regurgitating this stuff, read something meaningful about him and you'll realise this is far from the truth.

-- Tue Mar 16, 2010 12:21 pm --

You mean we could be the first team to put out 7 defensive midfielders?
