Mancini or Pep era?

Personally I was a huge Mancini fan, what he did allowed us to bring Pep to the club, he wouldn't have come otherwise. That being said Pep put together one hell of a team to win back to back titles, the truth be told though the last 18months we seem to have lost our way a bit and are unquestionably weaker now than after the two title campaigns, does Pep have it in him to stay around and rebuild the side, I really don't know with Mancini, I think he would have, but he had pissed so many people off that he wasn't given the chance.
Its a little like the debate was Clough the greatest manager in English football, his two titles at clubs that had never won one before or since, say yes in my view, but the fact that he couldn't get on with people running clubs also has to be taken into account and in that regard he failed.

Mancini by a long way IMO. Best manager we've ever had because he delivered what he promised. The FA cup win was like like being in a desolate barren dessert for 35 years and Bobby Manc poured nectar over us seedlings to flourish when many of is thougt we'd die of drought! We've blossomed since then to the size of a sunflower and Pep has given us almost perfect football. But we seem to have a collective air of expectancy and arrogance, in here on Bluemoan at least. Every trophy we win is a bonus, remember that. if we ever fell from grace and God help some of you!

5-2 defeat yesterday and 'the end is nigh' brigade are singing from the same sorrowful hymn sheet.

We are blessed fellow blues, blessed!

Unpopular opinion most likely but I actually think Mancini was a better manager. I think Pep has a much better tactical brain but when it comes to organising a team and building a squad I think Mancini was better. Don't forget Mancini did what he did with good players but not the quality Pep had and has had.

Pep with the right squad gives you pure magic but Mancini would not have tolerated the lack of balls shown by our current team, and he would have sorted out our shambolic defending.

I will always have a soft spot for Roberto that magical moment in 2012 was the highlight of all my years following City and I never expect it to be surpassed ever.

Mancini for me, but that does not mean I am anti Pep.
But they have both (and Pellers) been undermined by consistently poor signings. Off the top of my head, Sinclair, Rodwell, Javi Garcia, Fernando, Jovetic, Bony, Nolito, Mangala, Mendy, Bravo were either crap or permanently injured. Even the good ones seem to be injury prone. So unless we improve the recruitment, these type of defeats will be regular I fear.

I think Mancini has that kind of first baby vibe you get with your first born. You never forget it and deep down they are always the first special one. You have other kids and they are obviously special but nothing tops the emotion and feelings you get from the first one.
