Mancini out (Merged)

Re: Who should City get to replace Mancini?

I still think we will finish top four and therefore Mancini will stay.

Re: Who should City get to replace Mancini?

I don't want Mancini to be sacked. I think he's doing a reasonable job in difficult circumstances and if we finish in the top 4 then there should certainly be no move to sack him imo. If they were to sack him then Mourinho or Hiddink would clearly be excellent replacements. I can't think of anyone else who I'd particularly want ahead of Mancini.

Re: Who should City get to replace Mancini?

Barring a dramatic upturn in form, we should look for a new manager next season. I just don't believe Mancini is the man to turn this club into the force that ADUG envision. Thats not a kneejerk reaction from last night, its based on everything since he came, from his signings, to results and performances. He has done average since he arrived, and will the owners trust him with another 100 million plus to spend in the summer? Thats a valid question I'm sure they will be considering. 4th was the target last season, thats why they sacked Hughes, because they didn't believe he would reach it. Mancini may get 4th this season, but the bars going to be raised again next season, they'll be expecting a title challenge, and trophies, which is probably what they expected to challenge for this season. Arsenal haven't really improved or got worse from last season, Chelsea are a spent force, and the United team isn't the strongest. I'm sure the owners would have looked at that, and seen an opportunity to give a stronger title challenge, yet any chance we had of challenging for it, ended with that defeat to Villa in January. At this stage last year, we were 4 points clear of Spurs in 4th, this time its 3, with another potential decider in May. If we don't get 4th, then that is gross underachievement, no matter what happens regarding the FA Cup, which lets face it, we've had a very easy run in up until now.

Re: Who should City get to replace Mancini?

i wouls love to see mancini do well and be talked about in the same breath as fergie in 20 years times but if not i would have a serious look at benitez. clearly he is a class manager (i realise he failed at inter) and managed o get second in the prem with an average squad. may be worth a punt.

fingers crossed in 10/20 years we are talking about sir bobby haha.

I'm sure Bobby Robson will still be talked about by then.

Yep. He will be class. Get him in and quickly!

He speaks flawless English, has made immediate impacts at every club he's been at with positive results and attractive football, has great man management skills and players love him (probably learnt that aspect from Jose), has a better record at Porto than Mourinho did and he is only very young (33) but still has quite a lot of experience and could build a dynasty at City.

If I could choose anyone it would be him, he's a class act and I think would be perfect for City, plus more realistic than Jose, Hiddink etc.
