It would say to me that Mancini has admitted he has got his plans/philiosophy all wrong this season.
Apparently we need wingers now, yet his apologists previously insists his fabled 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 with the mercurial talents of Boateng and Kolarov, providing the width, are not, and have not, been the way to go?
Took him £150m and 12 months to discover it.
I'll go as far as to state that more than 50 per cent of the team hate Mancini's guts.
How do we then progress without a gigantic purge, if the club are retain faith in the current manager.
Player power is the reality in todays game, not saying it is right.
I agree, Mancini has obviously made mistakes with his intended team selection and tactics.
However , I'm not sure what you are aluding to in stating that half the team hate his guts. Surely a manager / player realtionship is based on mutual respect and the belief in each other abilities.
Are you saying that Mancini has alienated the squad due to his insitance on rigid tactics and not allowing players to express themselves freely?
The manager has to be backed if this is the situation, whats to say that another manager would not alienate the other 50% of the squad, do we keep churning the squad for the next 10 years until we get the manager/player blend correct?
It is my belief that the board will give Mancini their backing , with the result of the disaffected being show the door. We are not in the position of a Big Club where a winning cluture is ingrained despite the regular turnover of managers.
We still hope to win rather than that it being expected.
