Re: Would Swales have sacked bobby by now?

As Swales was renowned for making the worst decisions he probably would have sacked Roberto by now, before he could improve on his 3 trophies in 3 years record.

Watching the red scum and I don't want us to play like them but how they don't over complicate their attacks and don't try to make rocket science out of football annoys me... annoys me because we're the opposite, trying to be football intellectuals on the pitch but doing a half arse job of it compared to the masters (Barcelona).

If Mancini wants to be among the greats it's time for him to stop being so stubborn, change the style of football to one that doesn't play so much into the hands of half the league who have wised up since the first half of last season (the anti-football teams that make up half of the Premier League and now know how to take points from us at their grounds). I'd like us to play more like Dortmund than United, high pressing, fast, entertaining, but not kick and rush wingball.

Something needs to change because it looks like the Rags are 45 minutes away from wrapping up the title in the middle of February and that is a pathetic state of affairs.

I'll be eternally grateful to Mancini for his part in helping us win our first trophy in decades, managing us to the champions of England and in general being here at the start of us becoming a real force in football. I do think we need to kick on now though, just like when a side becomes better, the players we recruit become better. The managerial position is no different, at this level and by "this level" I mean defending champions, looking to hold on to our title, he's proven himself to be tactically inept time and time again. If proof was ever needed that we could do better, I think of it like this.....If old whisky face was our manager would we be 9 points behind, if your answer is anything other than no, I suggest you stop reading this and find a new sport. If Mancini was currently in charge of their squad, do you think they would be about to go 12 points ahead? Not a chance in hell. Lets not even mention our shambolic foray into to Europe. I'm not here to slag Mancini, far from it, but IMO he's reached his peak as a manager.I think everybody must realize its highly unlikely he would have been here this season without that Aguero goal.

I agree with you, but I think it is clear by now that Mancini will not/cannot change his approach. The pressure for such a change is almost irresistible now. I think it is when, not if, RM moves on - big summer of change ahead, I reckon.

And the way Aquero is playing now he would not score that goal which is more to the point.

Something clearly is not right and while injuries and other factors well documented have taken their toll , the players have lost their zest and the ability to do the things required to win games of football.

15 wins from 26 games isn't good enough for the quality of player we have at the club.

Players don't lose their ability en mass so quickly unless there are deep lying problems elsewhere.

Even Giggs at 40 contributes positively still after 20 years at the one club.

There have been some utterly, utterly shite threads in the last 24 hours but well played to the OP for setting the bar to a new low.
Keep reading on these threads that we are the best team, well the best team always wins the league, so if the best team does not win the league, it's because we haven't got the best manager.
