Who let themselves down at Soton? Hart and Barry - not the manager. Likewise champions League games where we made some ridiculous mistakes.

Are you joking. You can't go through an entire season blaming the players. At some point you have to ask the question, why are they under performing.

Rightly, or wrongly, the buck stops with the manager.

One week we are blaming the strikers, now Barry and Hart etc etc. We could argue he has been let down by his players in every game we haven't won this season, but when it is the players under performing on an alarming basis, you have to look at the manager. He is there to ensure they perform.

We have not been that far below what I would expect. We are 2nd in the League after all, and Utd are having a record-breaking season

I have been saying from September that our forward play was poor so I will take your point and the points that others have made about the manager not making the most of his forwards - for me it is impossible to play Dzeko and Aguero or Aguero and Tevez, and it was a case of bringing someone else in, or playing balotelli with Aguero out wide. We have attempted neither, but is that mancini's fault, or the clubs fault in not stepping into the transfer mkt. I don't know

I was thinking about that Spurs game as that's what yesterday's debacle reminded me of. All quite humiliating and the Rags will be ramming down our throats for many months to come. Fucked off and then some.

I'm still trying to come to terms with how unspeakably bad yesterday's performance was from start to finish, front to back, manger to players. It's left a sour taste in the mouth that a tonne of Suchard's finest would have trouble removing.

It's hard to swallow, isn't it? Going from Aguero's goal and a promising start to next season, then to a debacle transfer window, a winless CL, and 12 points back in February.

Something has happened, I'm surprised the media haven't figured out what yet.

There is a lot that pisses me off about our current situation. We didn't capitalise on winning the league last season. We could have really turned the screw on baconface and didn't. We could have cemented our place as superior to the scum, and didn't. We could have forced the old **** into retirement this season, but we didn't.

The players we got in were not the stellar names some wanted, myself included. Jury is still out on long term effectiveness.

Which brings me to this. Long term with Mancini looks a lot better than yet another rebuild. We are a scalp this season, every fucker wants to beat us. I won't deny some of what we have seen has been dire, but it isn't easy to look good against a team of defenders, as has been the case all season.

Still, we've lost 3 league matches all season. If it wasn't for the scum breaking records that we probably set last season, we'd be having a great season.

Get a grip lads, the project is still only just starting. As for Mancini, a title hangover is common in sports, so he will get next year at least, imho.

Think Mancini far from being sacked will be given what he asks for this time around no questions asked.

I've heard this comedy line a few times now- if we had signed Rvp we'd be top now. Talking like we are some kind of Swansea with a couple of kids up front.

We had four strikers who cost more than 25 million. All four had the capabilities and track record to get20-30 goals per season. Our strike force was the envy of Europe. It's a crap and embarrassing excuse. Van persie is no better than aguero, it's just that unlike Mancini, ferguson knows how to slot him into a well designed and balanced team.

The scum and us are not comparable when it comes to "well designed teams", that twat has been there for over 20 years, plenty of time to make a mark and that is what he has done. Mancini took on a team that we overpayed for in the first place, improved most of them, and even now is still battling to make a proper mark on the team. 3 years so far. Give Mancini another 10, or even 5 years (your worst nightmare?? ;) ) and we would see, imho, the football we all want to see.

we made a very big mistake last summer not strengthening the squad. if it's manchini's he's gotta go.

I feel very concerned about where we are going right now. The free flowing football and solidity we showed early last season has long since vanished. So many good players not performing anything like their potential is alarming. It points to some serious dressing room issues and that is Mancini's job.
Its his job to handle players through any personal difficulties and still get a job out of them. He failed with Balotelli, Tevez is at it again,Kun is a shadow of his former self,Silva and Ya Ya look lost.
If we had got RVP I don't believe Mancini would have got a fraction of the performances out of him that Bacon Face has.
A mate of mine chauffeurs the players from Carrington & says the players don't seem together and the Manager is aloof and distant from the team.
I don't think any Manager worth having would choose us right now nor indeed any stellar players would want to come to us while he is there.
All very worrying as I really wanted Mancini to establish a dynasty but I think his obstinacy and lack of tactical guile is dragging us down.

He's been on thin ice now since the back end of LAST season, take away the fact we won the league. That was his saving grace...

This season our league position covered the cracks, also the 'unbeaten' line was bollocks. United lost 2 games and sat 3 points above us.

He's only just starting to get found out now, from his subs, tactics down to man management.

When the pressure get's too much he doesn't have a hope, once again it's shown.

Can't take us any further, done his bit.

World class manager required now to 'manage' the team, and most of all organise it and make it more balanced than ever.

After last season i said we won't win the league again or get through in the CL group stages with mancini in charge, and i stand by it.

With all that cash he SHOULD be able to compete, and he can't. Relying on the quality of his players to win him everything because tactically he's inept. We won the league last year based on player quality, not management. He'll only produce results by spending more and more, no basic graft into making us a football team.

Appreciate what he's done, time to move on.

Let's imagine for a moment that we DO sack our most successful manager ever.

Will that make ferguson and utd worse?
Will that stop Chelsea spending to improve their squad?
Will that stop the possibility of Liverpool improving next year?
Or spurs?
Or arsenal?

If the answer to all the above Q's is "no" then lets say we end up with mourinho (please god, no)..

What if utd STILL push for the title (which they will), and god forbid, win it next year? What if (as is highly likely) we get another "group of death" next season in the CL?

We could be sat here next year in a very similar position, having spent millions on sacking and recruiting managers to say nothing of any player purchases.

What do we do then. Sack the new manager?

This whole debate is an embarrassment. I don't believe there are another set of fans anywhere in the world as obtuse and frankly ungrateful as some on this forum.

If what happened to the scum last year on the last day had happened to us our fans would've burnt the ground down. Their fans rallied round their manager and team and are likely to be rewarded with another title.

Hate to say this but many on here could learn a thing or two about suppiort from our hated neighbours. It's a similar story with the way our fans treated ballotelli in contrast to the way the filth treated cantona.

sorry but this is absute rubbish we've been embarrassed in the champs league and not played well all season and to top it off mancini slating players off in public something fergie would never do! If united went out of champs league like the way we did they would be calling for fergie to retire. With that said comparing mancini to fergie is ludicrous!
