In the last two seasons he's won the League & FA Cup. Even Baconface hasn't managed that.
I think mourinho had just won the treble including a champions league when he said that, rather than hanging onto his job. But it was pretty egotistical and daft when he said it too.SWP's back said:Didsbury Dave said:He's such a fucking clown. What headlines did he expect? Hypocrite
So what if he gets lampooned. I didn't think you were the thin skinned sort Dave.

Maybe I'm being harsh because what he said was a bit lost in translation. I think he was trying to say he'd been the most successful manager over the last 2 years.Pablo1 said:Didsbury Dave said:He's such a fucking clown. What headlines did he expect? What are the consequences of his actions going to be on this occasion Dave? I'm not entirely sure he worries too much about what headlines he makes either. What he said could certainly be argued against, but there is a semblance of truth.
Like most of these threads it will come down to wherever you rate Mancini or think he's a fucking clown who's not very bright as to how you take his comments. :-)

They call the shots not the manager
Because thats the way its looking at how our owners want to run the club.
That's why I suspect those people who think Mancini will only be dispensed with when an obvious candidate is available are a little wide of the mark. Looks like we want a first team coach rather than a manager. There are very few top drawer managers who'd work under those circumstances. Klopp would because it's a similar structure at Dortmund, Guardiola would but he's gone ... the likes of Moyes, Laudrup, etc. would simply because of the enormous opportunity it would represent managing City.
It might well be that for the long term good of the club Txiki/Ferran are prepared to bring in someone without an obvious management pedigree, because they bring other qualities to the job which are just as important.
I don't see why just because they appointed from within at Barca why this has to be the setup?
At the end of the day Guardiola still got to spend an awful lot of money, as did Rijkaard before him and so on.
Therefore it's not unreasonable to conclude that if Soriano and Glick do their jobs properly and raise the club's revenues through the roof then Txiki will be able to do his job properly of buying the best available players for what we want to achieve without having to worry much about FFPR and therefore the manager(within reason) gets who he wants.
Therefore I don't see the reason why there needs to be conflict unless somebody doesn't do their job properly, which I'd have hoped we'd have got rid off when we finally realised Marwood was not transfer negotiating material.
