Mancini Press Conference

why is that? boateng and Veiria has gone. and he wants two good players on each posstion.

you to the math.

GK - Hart & Pantilimon
LB - Kolarov & Clichy
RB - Richards & Zaba
CB - Kompany & Lescott & Savic & Kolo & Boyata

DM: De Jong & Barry (& Yaya)
MF: Yaya & Milner

AM: Silva (& Nasri imminent)

W: Johnson & SWP & Weiss

FW: Aguero & Tevez & Dzeko & Balotelli

Then he has willing players he could call on but refuses to like Bellamy and Onuoha who have shown they are at least good enough to be fringe players.

Then he has one of the best reserve/youth setups in the league and players like Guidetti, Nimely, Wabara, Assulin, Suarez, Roman, and Veseli who would be starting for some PL teams and are the sort of prospects that could develop into much more with game time.

I really cannot understand his argument, we have so much depth, the only thing we are starved of is some creativity, which Nasri will fix - and we also have the uber-talented Assulin/Suarez/Roman trio to call on if necessary. I can fully understand the need for Nasri and could possibly understand the need for a ball-playing midfielder like Banega, but is there any sign we're even in for one of those?
Players who has gone public to criticise Mancini and or the club cannot be included Mancini dont have a choice there! second, you cant rely on the kids if you are supposed to challange for the title and CL.

I just can't see Nasri making such a vast difference to the team. For Arsenal he has been played on the wing, which he has moaned about for 3 seasons, because he wants to play in the middle. So let's say he plays in the middle for City and isn't widely renowned for his tackling ability or tracking back, how long is Mancini going to keep him on the pitch for? Not very long.

Mancini has a certain style of play, a mentality where the back four and central midfield is strong and powerful. The argument is that they are too pedestrian and do not attack as a unit. I just don't see Nasri putting De Jong or Yaya on the bench. He's more of a drifting type player, of a lower capability to David Silva. Having two drifters in the same 11 is just not Mancini's style.

I followed Weiss playing for Rangers and in the pre-season games and he has more of a balance of the two elements that De Jong, Barry and Milner do not offer. He can defend and attack and is more of a rounded midfielder, and is hungry. I really think on this occasion Bobby is barking up the wrong tree with Nasri, and the touted salary is way OTT.

Still weak in midfield. Nasri will be a big boost. And a winger needed of course IF Weiss goes on loan and SWP is sold.

CB is also a pretty worrying position for City atm. If Kompany is injured (for a long time) we are absolutely fucked!

Kolo is not really a top class CB anymore and he is still banned for a while. Savic is a potential world class CB but not ready to take a big role yet i think.

And Lescott is just avarge. Can do the job but a CB of his level should be 3rd or 4th choice for a team like City.

I understand why Mancini is pissed because the movement is happening slowly.

He sounds like Wenger or Benitez when he whinges about this Woah Is Me attitude..

"I'm tired of talking talking talking. We talk and talk but we never finish. I want things to be done."

"Now is the moment to take decisions and not just talk about doing things. If we don't change right now, understand how crucial this moment is, we will waste one month or two months."

"If you go early, you might have an opportunity to sign someone. If you spend two or three weeks waiting, then talking and talking, either you can't sign the player or you'll have to pay more. We need to improve if we're to compete in the market."

"This is a crucial time if you want to do something. It's not about working in August - forget it. You'll lose your targets then. In cup competitions we can beat anyone. But we don't have enough quality in the squad for playing nine months on the same level as United and Chelsea in the premiership."

He's increasingly becoming like a spoilt fucking child if you ask me. He's the most privileged manager in world football and half the time he acts like he's carrying a poison fucking chalice .

I sometimes think he plays on Abu dhabis, and cooks, lack of football experience.

You would prob know a spoilt fucking child when you saw one-thats just how you were last season whenever city failed to win..you wanted three points every game and if it didn,t happen you banged your fists and slagged the manager off, demanding he be sacked..its because of the immense pressure on Mancini to deliver that he wants all signings wrapped up,bedded in and ready to start the season after a pre-season tour. that hasn,t happened, whilst utd,who won the league ,immediately add to their squad with players who have had the benefit of a pre-season tour together..

You demand the best from mancini yet you don,t want him to have the same support in-house and at executive level as the tyrant over the road has? what fooking planet are you on? City have had enough warnings that getting things right off the pitch is crucial in achieving the right results-i in my opinion we have been left behind this pre-season by a utd set up which moved quickly to carry out the managers orders in the most efficent and professional manner...we aspire to be champions but take three months to sort out a couple of transfers..oh great.

Quoting Benitez to prove his point. I like your style :)

The board are doing the right thing, in the past they splurged out on players and paid way over the odds in fees and salaries. Would you want them to do this and then get kicked out of Europe by Uefa? You'd be moaning then as well.

I cannot understand Mancini's attitude here. He already has a huge squad of players, but seems intent on writing them off before a ball is even kicked. 15 months ago, James Milner was tearing up trees for Villa. He was brilliant. Mancini bought him, now he's not good enough?? I think he needs to look at the potential of his existing squad before he starts trying to add more problems to the wagebill.

still can not see how this marriage can go on and on.

as soon as the owner will make his choice the better for the club.

They already have. Which is why even though Mancini went to AD to demand total control, he came back without it, and why he's still taking potshots at Cook and Marwood in the press.

He needs to be careful he doesn't end up being hoisted on his own petard.
