Mancini quote in MEN: "two or three more players"

I feel a lot of us will be dissapointed. I just don't see us getting Martinez. He is too perfect of a fit.

I think he is the top target. And i think he is gettable. Witsel and Strootman are probably the alternatives. If reports are to be believed. But they are both currently playing their first season at their current clubs.

Somewhat off the radar but a player who has quietly impressed me is N'zonzi at Blackburn.

Hasn't yet got the class to be a regular but only 23,a big unit, and developing into a very rounded 'defensive' midfielder.

I think he is a more refined Yaya in the making. Love him too. Great call!

-- Sat Apr 07, 2012 10:34 am --

Why do you think this. I have only seen 1 link to him. And it was more of a tenuous link. It was really him claiming he wasn't worth what the going price claimed. And then the author chimed in and said City could pay it.

I seriously don't think we are interested in him. He has been a decent CB this season, but nothing out of the ordinary. It seems more like BM fans love him more so than the club being in for him. I generally think he'd be a fantastic CB target, if we go that route. But I see us going for a natural CB instead. Vertonghen, Rami or Mbiwa will be my guess.

I simply don't think he is on our radar as a CM.

yeah Martinez will be a lot harder to buy (does he want to play in England btw)?

Not everyone needs a winger, but everyone could use a smooth as f*ck CM/CB.

i really don't see us snagging him. Will be delighted i we did. Especially if he comes in and plays CD, but I sincerely doubt we will get him.

I used to rate him but watching him this season he slows the game down more than Nige

get rid of barry, savic, lescott, adam johnson,

A bit random considering the topic, but yes to all except Lescott unless we're buying Hummels

3 English players? That makes no sense.

Lescott will not leave. 1) he has been good this season 2) He is English 3) He is one of our experienced players. So he is definitely staying. I'd love him as the backup CD though.

Barry too is unlikely to leave. He is our best English player. He'd probably not have any more national team duties (forced retirement) Meaning he will be fresher and can play excellently in spurts. Besides he is a consummate pro, and a credit to English and City football. You don't get rid of such.

Adam Johnson on the other hand might be a victim of circumstance. He is growing and trying to solidify his place on the national team. But he wouldn't if he is not playing weekly, and he is unlikely to get that here, if we get another WInger (i.e. a Hazzard) so I can see him forcing his way to a lower club or Liverpool (where being English gives you an advantage starting under Daglish).

Savic: Was an unfortunate purchase. But he will improve, and probably be the 4th CD next season. Kolo will probably leave for PSG. At least i hope he does.
