I can't help thinking that if things had been reversed, and United had been 8 pts behind with 6 games to go, and Fergie had managed to turn it around and win the title for United ... then the entire worldwide media would be hailing "Sir Alex" as a tactical genius and master of the "mind games", they'd be in awe at his ability to motivate his players, and be hailing him as one of the greatest managers ever.

When Mancini does it, they just say "Well, he almost blew it" and give "Manager of the season" to Alan Pardew.

So I think Roberto does deserve more credit that he has been given. Lets hope he gets it over the next few seasons.

Mate as I said Billy's got a brain the size of a peanut & he has yet to prove otherwise. He has imprisoned himself in the 'Mancini Out' penitentiary of his own making and has displayed the worst of all social traits imaginable by dogmatically digging his heels in when his points of view have (Champions League depending) all but collapsed and still he will not graciously concede.

Is he so scared of fellow Bluemooners taking the piss out of him for all internity that he'd rather inhabit this world of impasse and denial rather than admit he was mistaken regarding Mancini?

He's about as driven as they come. I imagine his priority next season will be to successfully defend the title, win a domestic cup, and get at least to the semi finals of the CL. David Platt said on TS the morning after the last day of the season that the goal this season was the league and the Q/F of the CL.
