He was just a guy with a minority opinion, I never understood why so many became so angry at him. Even during the times I disagreed with him, it never occurred to me that I should be offended by his beliefs.

While the article is a little high on hyperbole, the basic points are fairly valid. Mancini had pretty much been pushed out of Inter for almost the exact same behavior of alienating players, fighting with the medical team, etc. I wasn't fond of him when he arrived but grew to like his style over the past 3 seasons. Sad to see him go as I think he still had something to offer, but I can't say I see it as a big surprise as his style was always going to leave him with few friends when the results began to run dry.
