Didsbury Daid Byrne?

His experiments with the 3-5-2 formation, a formation the players clearly disliked intensely, showed his stubborn streak

Great article, but this point irritates me.

So they 'don't like the formation'? I agree they certainly didn't like it but I find it ridiculous. None of them are the manager and should have no say in how the team is picked. I'm not tactician, but to suggest they're a squad of players who cannot play this system is bollocks. We have a number of players who can play the wing back roles and of course we have suitable centre-backs, midfielders and strikers.

When we won the league, Mancini was criticized for no plan B. He found one, but unfortunately the player's 'didn't like it'. Pathetic. Wigan play that system extremely effectively. You can't say our squad of world class players could not adapt to it. We couldn't have a plan B with attacking wide players because we don't have anyone good enough. This was not Mancini's fault.

I still maintain the players let Mancini down.

I have to say. If all these stories are "it" in terms of what an ogre Mancini was , I dread to think what Dave would think of Baconface's antics over the years. By comparison, Mancini is a tender, caring, sharing sensitive boss! And I am not kidding - the man can be a psychopath.

As to the Two Amigos - BY GOD THEY'VE FUCKED UP with the Pelligrini leaks - especially the last one (that Pelligini had agreed to come to us) from Barcelona the Thursday before the final to multiple well placed journalists in Spain that resulted in the bookies slashing their prices. Even if Mancini was going to be sacked they should have stood up an lied through their teeth. They didn't and the effect was devastating on our team performance.THAT will take a lot for me to forgive - it's not like we get to FA cup finals that frequently - let alone win them!

For those who have mentioned the font apologies...it's being sorted.

There has been a couple of comments suggesting that I must agree with DD for publishing this but that is not necessarily the case - this past week I've had to swallow bile and print the most arse-kissing shite on Ferguson so by that logic I'm a great big rag too.

Fact is I do agree with most of DD's points but can also see the incredible good he has achieved too. In over a hundred games in charge I remain conflicted on the man and manager which IMO makes him a complicated and fascinating person - rare qualities indeed in the sterile modern game.

But am I sorry to see him go? Nope. We'd gone past the point of him getting things back on track.

I find it incredible that someone who calls himself a city supporter should feel the need to write such a biased, one sided piece of drivel. I think blues should be gratefully for all he has achieved for the club, achievements that the previous manager never looked like getting near to accomplishing. I believe the majority of blues feel the same way as the banners and songs sung at Reading seem to suggest.

No matter how much shit gets written (literally in Didsbury dave's case) about him, no one will ever be able to take away the trophies or the 6-1 and I will still wear my Mancini scarf with pride.

It's time to move on and show the same support to whoever gets the job next, with all the recent comings and goings it should be an exciting season and surely anyone's better than gollum!

Nail on the head, they're supposed to be top level professionals - if they can't take on board more than one formation and learn their roles in it they're not much fucking use.

Also they're really in the weeds with Pelligrini as he switches formation all the time according to reports.
