Mancini write-up by Didsbury Dave

For those who have mentioned the font apologies...it's being sorted.

There has been a couple of comments suggesting that I must agree with DD for publishing this but that is not necessarily the case - this past week I've had to swallow bile and print the most arse-kissing shite on Ferguson so by that logic I'm a great big rag too.

Fact is I do agree with most of DD's points but can also see the incredible good he has achieved too. In over a hundred games in charge I remain conflicted on the man and manager which IMO makes him a complicated and fascinating person - rare qualities indeed in the sterile modern game.

But am I sorry to see him go? Nope. We'd gone past the point of him getting things back on track.

Yeah but come on Dave has exaggerated, said stuff without basis and generally showed a lot hate and anger.

Don't blame you for uploading it mate but it is a really uncomfortable and silly read imo.

.. this point irritates me.

So they 'don't like the formation'? I agree they certainly didn't like it but I find it ridiculous. None of them are the manager and should have no say in how the team is picked. I'm not tactician, but to suggest they're a squad of players who cannot play this system is bollocks. We have a number of players who can play the wing back roles and of course we have suitable centre-backs, midfielders and strikers.

When we won the league, Mancini was criticized for no plan B. He found one, but unfortunately the player's 'didn't like it'. Pathetic. Wigan play that system extremely effectively. You can't say our squad of world class players could not adapt to it. We couldn't have a plan B with attacking wide players because we don't have anyone good enough. This was not Mancini's fault.

I still maintain the players let Mancini down.
Nail on the head, they're supposed to be top level professionals - if they can't take on board more than one formation and learn their roles in it they're not much fucking use.
that's what Roberto used to say

If they can't cope with 3 at the back then they're going to fecking struggle if Pelligrini, Klopp or De Boar rock up. Their tactical changes are far more complex.

I still haven't got over the last load of claptrap he wrote when he called Zabba a failure.

The man needs sending off to the funny farm.

He basically belittled any achievement.

The way he wrote about the Semi-Final against United made my skin crawl.

The dig about Mancini waving his arms about is pathetic, he's Italian it's what they do in everyday conversation FFS.

"One nil, eighty minutes gone. The atmosphere in Wembley stadium is crackling. The tension on both red and blue sides is reaching fever pitch. United are down to ten men and City have been the stronger and more dangerous side by some distance. The tide is turning in Manchester football and this day is set to become a landmark day in City’s history. United are starting to see a bit of the ball for the first time in the second half but all City need is to stay cool, stay calm and stay organized and they are in the Cup final. A simple message needs to go out to the players – don’t panic. Yet on the touchline a man is working himself into a frenzy. He screams, jumps and waves his arms around. On his face is a look of absolute fear and fury. It’s the manager doing exactly what he shouldn’t be doing. He’s lost the plot, not for the first time.

The players hang on and five week’s later have won the FA Cup."

Stopped reading after this. Mancini's ranting and raving can't have exactly harmed us can it? What a muppet you are. Every single manager, even Fergie and Mourinho, have been shown on TV ranting and raving during the last 5 minutes of a game they are trying to hold onto. It's called passion and it is an effective way of getting a message across - the last 5 minutes would be the worst time so sit down acting calm and composed and not instructing your players.

Didsbury Dave, you are an idiot.

Also we played well right until the final whistle. I think Nani had a late free kick but we had 4 very good counter attacks near the end. Some of the stupidest shit i've read.

No mention that he had us playing some of the best football the Premier League has seen at the start of last season.

Sad, sad man.

After reading the article, I have to be honest and say I'm disturbed by the hostility shown towards one of our most successful manager's (sorry ex managers).

I'm sure Piss Can has upset quite a few people in the past at Old Toilet, but you never see rags assassinating his character in the same way as Roberto is getting treated.

I'm afraid Didsbury Dave is either personally bitter about something relating to Roberto (perhaps he didn't sign an autograph once? ;), or DD is being asked by staff within the club itself to write derogotary gossip/rumours about him to appease fans anger about his sacking, (which to me was a backwards step by the club, but I would love to be proved wrong).
