Mancini write-up by Didsbury Dave

After reading the article, I have to be honest and say I'm disturbed by the hostility shown towards one of our most successful manager's (sorry ex managers).

I'm sure Piss Can has upset quite a few people in the past at Old Toilet, but you never see rags assassinating his character in the same way as Roberto is getting treated.

I'm afraid Didsbury Dave is either personally bitter about something relating to Roberto (perhaps he didn't sign an autograph once? ;), or DD is being asked by staff within the club itself to write derogotary gossip/rumours about him to appease fans anger about his sacking, (which to me was a backwards step by the club, but I would love to be proved wrong).

No he definitely doesn't need prompting to do that!

Nail on the head, they're supposed to be top level professionals - if they can't take on board more than one formation and learn their roles in it they're not much fucking use.
that's what Roberto used to say

If they can't cope with 3 at the back then they're going to fecking struggle if Pelligrini, Klopp or De Boar rock up. Their tactical changes are far more complex.

I doubt MP will be drilling them in the formation during the second half of a CL group fixture at the Bernabeu...

-- Wed May 15, 2013 4:17 pm --

Oh, yes, that Mansour fellow is one sneaky, lowdown b*st*rd, isn't he? Let's kick him to the curb and get a real and proper owner in, maybe Dave Whelan or Randy Lerner or someone of that ilk...

Come on, are you seriously suggesting that they never worked on different formations in training??

He's refering to Daves article, not the owners.

Well, based on visual evidence...in fairness to Bobby, he didn't have his entire squad present during preseason, but I still think it was remarkable that he switched to the 3-5-2 during the second half of such a deadly important match.

Yes, I gathered that, but I don't think the club would engage in such a campaign unless the owner was alright with it. Furthermore, we're not going to hear anything about the dirty laundry from either Bobby or the club simply because of the nature of severance packages, which invariably muzzle both parties. I'm sure this is also why we've heard nothing at all whatsoever from our players or remaining staff about the sacking.

Finally, no offense to Dave, but do you really think the club would employ such a loose cannon, even on the sly...? :-)

So in essence, neither side "inners" or "outers" will get the chance to prove their side of the argument, it will all be based on hearsay.

As Mancini has gone, and by DD's own admission, the majority of fan liked him, it would have been better to just leave things as they are and move onto the new manager and fully support him instead.

It's the character assassination in the national press and by some on this forum that I really dislike.

More articles in the nationals tomorrow. I'm not sure what their agenda is, if any, but they are fully justifying the club's decision to sack him. Which may mean the club is behind all these articles, protecting the image and all. Look at this by Ian Herbert:

Though the dismissal of Mancini on Sunday, announced late on Monday, has been met with fierce criticism, there is a deep conviction at City that changing managers is the right course of action.

It remains difficult to find any players to contradict the more readily available impression that Mancini was unpopular. The Independent's attempts to locate one drew another blank. It seems significant that even the club captain, Vincent Kompany, an articulate and prolific user of social media, has offered no comment or good wishes towards Mancini.

I fear that we are mere pawns in the game to get Stephen Aziz his old job back,I mean no one goes to Sunderland of there own free will.
After any conflict the victors get to write the history, and this is what we are seeing now it will be years till, the revisionists get hold of the facts and until then no one knows, not even South Manchester's version of Nigel Dempster.

Read the first paragraph and thought fuck off back to Didsbury.

Is that far enough?

The truth is Dismal has almost as high an opinion of himself as Mancini does. Maybe that's why he dislikes him so intensely. He was on his case from day 1, mainly I fathomed because Roberto wasn't Jose, and so this rather bitter piece comes as no surprise.

While Mancini's future will be interesting so will Dismal's. Don't know if he is a frustrated journo or not, but his literary style is combatative and will surely need a new target sooner rather than later. Who? Well that remains to be seen.

He's far from being a journo but something he said to you in a previous thread stands out now - it's ok to have differences in opinion, I myself didn't agree Mancini needed to go but discussed it from both sides. That is a well written, articulate piece which you find reason to pour scorn on because it's Dave - there is no bigger man than him who can admit he was wrong, what battle is it you think your fighting ffs, he's a blue, you're a blue, each has there opinion but the common denominator is the same - it's become fucking tiresome this shit, put it to bed man!!!

Best post on the thread.
