Just my speculation but if i was to give Bobbie a brief at the start of the season it would have been something like this.

Retain the title or at least be in contention right to the end. ( Failed )
Progress to the 1/4 finals of the champions league ( Failed )
Demonstrate continuous improvement on the pitch ( Failed )
Develop and strenghten the squad ( Failed imho )
Contend for the Fa or League cup ( on track )
Develop players from the youth team ( Failed )

Doesn't look good and i am a supporter of Mancini, i don't want to see him go but i can't see anything other than a change now.
You were expecting improvement from a very high base

In my view the squad is stronger, but injuries have disrupted our team when we got off very lightly last season.

And in common with the rest of this topic, nearly all the contributors fail to analyse our weakness this season, which is scoring goals, and the reasons for it.

I don't think we can expect to challenge for the title with two fit forwards, one of whom everyone expects to leave at the end of the season.

That's the reason we are struggling now - the forwards we have available the fact that Dzeko appears to be unsettled and moving on

What happens if I have a 100% positive winning mentality, but lose, what happens then?
Do I blame others, become superficial, not sure..

Apparently he went straight to the airport in a private car without really talking to the players or joining them on the bus. I know a trip to Italy is standard for him during international breaks but it's like he can't get out of the country and away from the players soon enough. Can you imagine someone like Ferguson (ugh) deciding to take a trip home to Scotland right after a game and ignoring the players? It's just awful man management, no two ways about it. I'm not saying he should be 'arry and put arms around shoulders, but he just doesn't seem to have any personal connection to anything, another young-ish coach like Klopp is invested completely in his club's project, has good relations with the players, attends youth games, involves himself with all aspects of the club and gives the impression he lives for the club.

With all due respect, that's bollocks.

The fact we have assembled a hugely unbalanced squad, devoid of any pace, is why we haven't challenged.

If you say so Marvin, I'm as big a Blue as anyone but don't see everything through super bright Blue blinkers like you like to (when is United's bad patch coming, BTW?). You take offence to any contrary opinion to everything being perfect at City, and fair play to you (except when you label people rags for it), but don't attack those who have a balanced view on the club and can view both pros and cons. I love Mancini and sing his name but he clearly is not an A lister in the world of management, and his flaws have been highlighted this season. Preach the 2nd place gospel all you want but we're as close to 8th (West Brom) as 1st (United) and that's a clear sign of regression. We're underachieving with this squad and there are managers who could get more out of them than Mancini is - especially in the attacking half of the pitch where we're incredibly average considering the players we have.

I knew we'd lose at Everton, we always do. Losers mentality. 15 points behind United and out of the title race in February, still second is wonderful. Losers mentality. Shite again in the Champs League, but who cares about the Champs League anyway. Losers mentality. Look on the bright side, we're still in the fa cup. Losers mentality.

I posted in the week that we could still win the title,so do please get your facts right. I still think we can win the FA cup.

Not losers mentality at all...Can anyone on here hand on heart seeing the team yesterday think we could win ?? I just got that feeling, I didnt want it but there it was.. and I was proved right, and I gladly posted my views on here..its the first time Ive ever thought wed lose since Bob came to us..Everton are a tough gutsy side and at full strength we'd find it hard to do em.
same with the champs league, we drew groups of death for two consecutive years and I believed we were not strong enough or ready for it... I want the best for City just like everyone else but we are not there yet.. maybe it is Bobs fault and im too blind to see it, but im sticking by the manager and if that makes me a loser then fair do's.

Bayern, Napoli and Villarreal is nowhere near a group of death, its an hard group but that's what you expect in the champions league. I'll agree that we got a group of death this year but if we can't beat the likes of Ajax and Napoli then we are never going to go far in the competition.

I think youll find that the Bayern group was called the group of death...Franc Ribbery's comments were all over youtube.

Most City supporters are behind Bob, i,d imagine the owners, and Khaldoon, have more balls and understanding than the blueloon fifth column.
The experts on here need to get a job in football management.

Sadly i suspect he'll leave at the end of the season thanks to the same cunts who drove the prodigal son away.
