They are 2nd in the league and poised to get back into Europe next season and are in the semis of the FA Cup. Not exactly poor situation.

Not for many teams i agree,but our standards and expectation levels are justifiably higher than the vast majority.

We have come up short this season.

And we arent ? We are better team than dortmund. It was between us and dortmund for the 2nd place from the beginning and we failed by not winning both games against ajax as real and dortmund did.
