Laughable really isn't it?

The only explanation I have is they genuinely didn't know what role Marwood had in transfers, or am I being too generous?

DD has opened a real Pandora's box here.

So let's call a spade a spade shall we.

Mancini has not been able to take the team forward this season, according to his supporters, because he was not backed in the market last summer.

Marwood's supposed incompetence resulted in Mancini's transfer targets falling by the wayside.

So instead of spending £100m on Van Persie, De Rossi, Javi Martinez and such, we bought Scott Sinclair, Javi Garcia and Jack Rodwell, at a net spend of £23m.

Marwood was a lackey, nothing more, a buffer zone.

In essence, Mancini and his supporters are laying the blame at our owners.

Hence DD's valid opinion that perhaps the people with the money don't get everything right and don't know everything about football.
Not a can of worms for me Tolm. I've been saying it since the 'ask Marwood' debacle of last summer. That was Mancini criticising khaldoon and the sheikh. The whole demonisation of Marwood is laughable, as is the idea that he would be given the responsibility for deciding how much we should and should not pay for Rvp et al. He was the lacky out on adug's business. The purchasing manager negotiating contracts for the MD and FD.

I'm not saying khaldoon's incompetent before all you Janet and John clowns start burning your straw man. I'm saying when it comes to the football side of things he has no experience prior to the city job. And if you demonise Marwood you by implication demonise the organ grinders who Marwood is the monkey for.

I have a concern that khaldoon may make incorrect calls on the football side but Have much more confidence in the new guys. And Rammy, I do agree that they have been given responsibility for the manager. And I believe they will have already seen through Mancini.

The only people demonising anyone is you lot, if you demonise Mancini you are demonising our owners, it works the same way, whether it is Marwood, Txiki or anyone else you deign to slag off.

When will you appreciate that those of us who support Mancini are therefore happy with what our owners are doing and grown up enough to understand that mistakes will always be made by all organisations, but that doesn't mean we aren't happy with the overall situation.

The only reason I am guessing that Mancini supporters pointed to Marwood is to make you numbnuts realise that you can't always place blame solely at the managers door, particularly where football managers no longer control the whole football side of things like they used to. I think our owners werent happy with Marwoods role in the summer and made the necessary changes.

If you lot shut up there would be no demonising of anyone. Anyway, I'm glad you have at least retreated from the position that implied our owners were at fault for 'your' perceived failings of the club this season.

But just for the avoidance of doubt, most of the Mancini inners are happy with the direction of the club and the manager and therefore fully supportive of the owners - we don't therefore feel the need to 'blame' anyone - unlike your good selves.

I only stated the other day that I also wasn't educated on him and slaughtered him. I even said which thread it was Cookie!

The truth only came out months after the summer and it's pretty clear for all to see. Our wagebill needed to be cut and we had to sell before we bought. The time spent waiting around we lost momentum on signing our target players.

For that, you have to admit, it is extremely harsh to slaughter Marwood.

Personally speaking, last summer I thought our club would've spent and said fuck you to FFP. Last summer was crucial in building on, I said so at the time fella. THe thing is I didn't realise how seriously our club was going to treat FFP.

Look at PSG, that's what we should've done, Mansour seems hellbent on retaining class and doing thing in line with regulations and to come out smelling of roses down the line. If I were him I'd have said bollocks to it all and just gone all out.

As I said though, on reflection I was and people still are harsh on Marwood. He did what was asked of him and couldn't pull rabbits out of hats. His failings can't have been deemed that bad else he'd have been out of a job rather than redeployed to the Academy.

no it isn't, unless you had your head wrapped in a carpet during the Hughes period you would have to be blind to have missed everything Ban correctly points out.

Every sentence from Ban's post is factually correct.

no mate he's talking bollocks. all the hughes haters are what you may call, er, thick.

Fuck off de niro, I can understand you defending Mancini but Hughes? And then the irony in you branding others 'thick'...

i am deeply offended by your insult againt me. i am reporting you to the moderation team. i am an old and rather timid fan who just wants his say.

Haha.

Those who criticise Mancini are 'slagging off'. Those who criticise Marwood are 'pointing to'.

You couldn't make this lot up, you really couldn't.

I enjoyed the 'if you lot shut up' comment too. It amuses me how threatened some people feel when city fans on a forum discuss an issue that the whole of football are discussing.

I have no problem with you being happy with this season's performances. I'm not, but I don't go around telling those who are to shut up.

It also amuses me to think of the turmoil you'll be thrown into if Mancini is sacked this summer ;-)

I actually agree Marwood took the wrap for a lot
Tbh though surely everything marwood did or didnt do regarding transfers was approved by Khaldoun

And like you said it looks like ffp is right at the top of the sheikh's priorities,i guess he has pumped enough in
I can only see us only spending whatever money we raise from selling in the summer & balo's fee too..

No one is demonizing the owner or KAM and it is perfectly acceptable to question their judgment on matters concerning the football club. Mansour owns the club and has to date been a magnificent benefactor but that does not make him or his appointees infallible and he certainly did not come to the party with lots of experience of owning a top flight football club.

Mansour owns the club - and long may he continue to dos so - but it is our club: the supporters are the club and we have every right to our opinions on how it is run.

So let me get this right. If Mancini plays 3-5-2 against Everton and they stuff us then the Sheikh's a ****?
On what planet did we get stuffed against Everton?

By the sounds of it, us Blues are using anything and everything, from the Sun to our own employees, to beat all and sundry with.

Sad times.

Turned into a sad thread.
