People still confuse man management with being nice to players.

Maybe, maybe not, but I defy you to tell me that constant public sniping constitutes evidence of good man management, particularly when that sniping is aimed at one of the most respected and influential players ever to have played for the club, and whose only crime incidentally was to play for his country. Oh no, what a bastard, Vinny must be cut down to size! Mancini is mutating into a caricature of himself, and I cannot believe that alienating your captain in this fashion is good for the club.

Kompany is a strong character he wouldn't give toss if Mancini shook his hand or not

That's not the point though is it

So you want Mancini pretend?

Nice doesn't come into it.

He should be able to effectively communicate with all members of his squad and command a mutual respect.

His tenure so far and the very public spats with a few players suggests that's not the case.

No, what I want is for him is to stop pointlessly slagging off his players for no good reason. At the moment he's giving a fair impression of Blackadder's Captain Rum.

"I thought it was common managerial practice and good sense not to slag one's players off in public?"
"Opinion is divided on the subject my Lord"
"Oh? How so?"
"All the other managers say it is, I say it isn't"

A trophy nearly every full year of management says that opinion is inaccurate.
Players have to grow up and be men when dealing with Mancini or move on.

No, I want a manager who is not a disaster as a man-manager. Our players play for themselves, for their own professional pride, that is when they bother to. They stopped playing for Bobby a long, long time ago, but his corrosive personality continues to infect the squad, and other parts of the organization from time to time. That will be put right at season's end.

I made no mention of success or a lack of it, merely pointed out the numerous spats that have happened with various players during his tenure.

Club captain going off to play for his country whilst injured for his club and then the manager publicly criticising him in the media doesn't point to effective communication or a mutual respect.

Tevez situation the same, Mario also....

When is Bobby going to grow up?
