Tbh I think it's sad that they jump on these articles as some kind of vindication, their argument has gone from his footballing achievement to his supposed man management abilities.
I will remind them of fergies falling out with Beckham, his ruthless dumping of Jaap stam and the way he got rid of Keane towards the twilight of his career.
I'm sorry but once you give an indication that players, I don't care who they are, are more powerful than the manager you are on a slippery slope.
The likes of DD and others who jump on these articles are just encouraging the media to write more rubbish.
Hmmm, I think the difference being that Fergie had a CL win, about 5 titles and various cup wins in the bag at the point he dumped those guys you mention....probably gave him a position of some strength to deal with those players? Much as I like DD I doubt he has much influence with the Belgian press.
Oh right so what 'is' the benchmark when you are allowed to actually be the boss.
Fergie has also fallen out with berbatov - remember him laughing at him being miserable on the bench and Nani is the latest who was out of favour this season and is likely to leave in the summer.
I'm sorry but if a manager is be successful he has to have total authority and its a corny phrase but no player is bigger than the club. I think every rag fan was against the sale of Beckham, he was a global superstar, but he wouldn't toe the Fergie line so he went, and quite right too.
In this situation the club will either back the manager as they did with the tevez saga or they will genuinely think the situation has been badly managed in which case the club will be in the best position to judge.
I will be damned however if I'm going to go against our manager as a result of this 'story' and I will always back a manager against a recalcitrant player pursuing his own agenda even if that does happen to be Vinny - otherwise every manager who manages this club, whoever they are is otherwise doomed to failure.
Barca sniffing can twist anyone brain.
As much as I like Vinnie ,I really don't like this attitude .He was an average player before Mancini took over and not a pleasant way to be thankful to a person who made him a class player.
BY the way,the bubble gum chewing red nose criticized his team except one player in media after Chelsea defeat. Why the press is not buzzing about it?
