So what has Kompany done wrong?

What should have been done differently?
M
People don't have an issue with Mancini blaming the Belgian coaching staff. But his comment about "Kompany knows he has done wrong", when he had fuck all say in the matter, is madness.

I think Vidic would have said to his international manager boss I'm not ready after the warning from his club manager
And then the manager wants to play him anyway.

What does he do then?

Tell him your not fit is it that difficult

Haha you and mr shears are both keyboard warriors ob1 reading your posts always makes me wonder what you guys look like. I always picture sheldon types who have never kicked a ball in their life which explains your footballing views. Strange how you boys want rid of Mancini but Monaco who want to become a force in world football are linked with him, and even united fans are laughing at the idea we might sack him because we are now so successful we cannot tolerate his gross under achievements. You make me laugh ill give you boys that.

Keyboard warriors! Well you'd be right that I've spent a lot of time at my keyboard recently.

When people post stuff like this, is it any wonder that disparaging responses become the order the day?

If you had actually read a lot of my posts, you would not be making the comments that you have just made.

I'm pretty sure that I made reference to the fact that I was player manager of a team that won its league with an unbeaten season. Maybe you think goalkeepers don't kick the ball! I have never played the game at anything approaching a decent level but I did play football regulalrly from the age of 7 into my early 40's; I've stopped now because one of my knees is close to being knackered, probably from kicking a ball so much. And I have played every postion on the park but goalkeeper was my number 1 position.

Well you're evidently not listening and not prepared to understand international football rules.

Not much point discussing it further.

I know what the rules are. I don't think they would be enforced on a player that hasn't played a game in two months due to injury.

If he'd told the manager he wasn't going to play he shouldn't have played.
So break FIFA rules, which could incur sanctions for Kompany and the club is the plan.

It is if you're declared fit by club and country medical staff.

What's his next move?

He hasn't played for 6 weeks, I have had a twinge. United players have made a living out of it for donkys years

Like I said he can make his own decisions and suffer the consequences. If he didn't want to play he wouldn't of played.

I note with interest that there were no replies to my post asking for truly honest lists of replacement managers, its funny that dont you think?

I didn't answer cos I was out last night but I will now.

My ideal choice has gone to Munich so, currently, I'd plump for:

Mourinho
Klopp
Wenger (with Paddy as his one of his key assistants).

At least you didn't misquote me this time.

Now toddle off back to Sesame Street and see if you can find your parents.

For friendlies, where the rules are different.

For a competitive game, you must make yourself available. Especially once your own club's medical staff have declared you fit.

Again I think you're simply not listening and are choosing to take a narrow minded viewpoint to pin the blame on Vinnie and not on Mancini for having an ill-advised hissy fit.

At the end of the day he was fit and he played and if he'd been injured it would have been dissappointing but Belgium took the decision to call him up and there's nowt we can do about it. As it is he got 90 minutes under his belt which got him in better shape for Newcastle so it actually worked out nicely, even less for Mancini to complain about.

Just saying the top clubs in Europe make sure their most important players don't play for their countries on their say so especially after long injury. We all know what the rules are but........

Ah a keeper. So you wanted to play outfield but couldn't quite cut it cool. Better than reffing I guess.

Unless you've got some examples to prove me wrong of course...

I am listening, I'm just not changing my mind to suit your opinion.

As far as blame goes, I don't really care. He got through the match and all is fine with me.

If he had injured his calf again I certainly would have been asking some questions of him. I suspect more than a few would have also been asking questions of Mancini for not doing anything about it as well.

Like I said if VK was in the middle of the run of games for us and fully fit I would hate for us to discourage him from playing for his country. But I see this as a totally different thing.

you're being a bit of a cock.

As countless ex-players prove the amount of football you've played does not equal your ability to analyse and have a good understanding and knowledge about it.

But the ridiculous mess which is the FIFA rulebook made it very hard to do anything. Especially seeing as OUR OWN medical team had cleared him to play.

Ferdinand was fully fit last week. But it's beside the point, if the player says he's not quite right to play he won't play and FIFA will do fuck all about it.

As far as I know there is no ruling that distinguishes between friendlies and competitive matches as well. What you'll find is that international managers will be a bit more co-operative in friendly matches so you might find players rested or playing 45 mins etc. But I'm pretty sure an association can still make a complaint about a player not being allowed to travel for a friendly.

I don't think we will ever know how many fully fit players haven't played a competitive international

I don't think VK would have been the first put it that way.
