And there it is right there ^^^^^^^^^^

One of the conditions of his return is a top 4 spot, without that, no deal!

Oh and that tiny detail of a huge contract to be thrashed out

The article is in complete contradiction to that, though.

He wants it signed now, hence the plant by Beasley in the first place.

Jose is trying to apply pressure so that he comes out smelling of roses either way.

Thanks Tolm, that's what I was trying to point out. Still don't really see why missing out on top4 would be a reason for Roman to NOT employ Jose though?

More a case of Jose not wanting to lower himself i would have thought.

Bob it is again then next year.

At least it will keep this thread alive ;-)

Can't see it being that simple. I'd still love to know what the fook Bob was dragged over to AD for....

Maybe he went of his own accord looking for assurances about his future. Maybe they called him over there to tell him there's no worries over his own future. We can speculate either way although the timing is a bit strange with Khaldoun having been in Manc very recently.

Could also be two ships passing in the night..Truth will out I'm sure.

I'm pretty shit at knocking stuff together but can anyone get a list of remaining games for Chelsea, Spuds and Arse?

Wasn't Khaldoon at the Newcastle game last week. Reports started he spent an hour with Mancini in his office after the game?

Perhaps Mancini needed to hear something direct from the horses mouth, needed assurances.

There's nothing which couldn't have been said in the usual end-of-season-meeting unless it directly related to his job, staying or not.

People will drive themselves crazy trying to read something in to it. I have heard Mancini on two occasions later this week make reference to the future.

City saying it was for a holiday, most people will see through that.

As for Jose, I think that shipped sailed the moment his people contacted Begiristain a few weeks back.

I would love to retain your hope, but I don't see it.

the quotes the other day re spending a shit load more money speaks volumes of his managerial abilities to be fair

I've not read the Beasley article and he obviously has his reasons, but without a top 4 finish he wont be Chelsea manger, make of it what you will.

Miss Piggy's little boy just did a sex wee in his pants reading that Tolmie!

Seriously though, I think there's many twists and turns left in the whole managerial merry go round before decisions are made from any of the main parties involved.

So it looks like we could of had the best out there yet the spanish duo said no to him
Do you think it was them or khaldoun gave the thumbs down?

Not sure about Soriano, but Begiristain was certainly back in Manchester, signing up Yaya you will recall.

City's statement was that 'to the best of their knowledge' Khaldoon was not in Abu Dhabi at the time.

Coincided with Khaldoon supposedly seeing Mancini last weekend in Manchester, I don't see what the trip achieves if our chairman was also not in Abu Dhabi?

Talking transfer targets with Sheikh Mansour seems a waste of his precious time?

It smacks of a professional courtesy being extended if Mancini was not on a short break.

I doubt he could take it upon himself to go out there on the strength of a chance audience.

There is another possibility to consider. City have previously done a lot of courting of big transfers targets in the region, because of the close of secrecy it sort of affords us.

Fergie could possible pay 60 odd million to get tranny back plus huge wages,
does that not make him a chequebook manager ???

If Bob goes,do you think any manager coming in would not want a big warchest ??

"Never go back". How does this apply to Mourinho at Chelsea?

I've heard a lot of people saying it wont work, but why? If the relationship broke down once with Abramovic surely the trust has gone. That's the only thing I can think of.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this. The media tell us that Abramovic has patched up his differences with Mourinho now. Is this true?

4th spot is genuinely in the balance for Chelsea. They are playing very well at the moment, but they have a key game with Spurs coming up, and with all their fixtures I can see them dropping points. Arsenal wont drop many now

Add to that Benitez looking at the here and now, he doesn't give a shit if they get top 4 or not, he wont be around to reep the benefits.

He's looking at the pots he can win to add to his CV, he'll be playing his strongest teams in Europa and FA cup no worries about that.
Not sure about that. CFC did not play their strongest team at home to Rubin Kazan

With such a heavy schedule squad rotation is obviously going to come in to play, I just feel that his priorities will lie with them cups over the League.

Agreed in that they all have to spend big now.

The key is spending the money wisely and to a plan!

Personally, I'm going with Bob being told post-Newc by Khaldoon that his time at City is coming to an end. Informs him that Sheikh Mansour would like to see him face-to-face to personally thank him for the last 3 years and all he's done for the club, as chances are he won't see him face-to-face again.

I know some commentators have said that. But I don't think it will reflect well on Benitez if CFC finish outside the top 4. It will be very close

Begiristain and Soriano hold the power in this regard. I haven't said they have turned him down, but with something as big as that, leaks would have been out all over Europe.
