Mancini's selection and tactics

Even if we dont win a trophy this season no way should mancini be sacked. He said we will come good after the internatonal break in 2 weeks i believe this will happen.

There's threevways to play a high line.

1) Over the top for a Drogba type striker to run onto
2) Diagonal balls into the channels
3) A pacy winger to get round the back and turn them.

We tried the first but too often the ball was a few seconds too late and Dzeko was caught offside. We can't do the third because we haven't got a pacy winger. Silva and Nasri were the perfect players to do (3) but we rarely got the ball forward quick enough.

Pissing about with it at the back is NOT the right way.

My guess is Pep next summer.

I think your guess will be wrong

I'm curious if this talk from Mourinho is showing that he's a ready-made replacement for Mancini with all of this "returning" to England bullshit. Bullish towards taking on Ferguson, and from what better position than cross-town rivals City with unlimited funds?

Who knows what goes on in the background, but you've got to think that Mansour has a backup plan on the cards at any given time. Whether or not they have a backup plan in case of another Europe failure, who knows. Who knows whether there is a clause in Mancini's contract in regards to early termination in the event of European failures. I would be surprised as hell to see Mancini keep his job if he drops out in the group stage a second straight season without having a massive lead in the league table. Consistently failing to make progress in the Champion's League will Jeopardize City's Europe prospects in regards to FFP, and thus the ability for City to begin breaking even in a reasonable time frame.

I hope we don't deliver this kind of performance on Saturday.

We have to start to boss possession in the opponents half ala last season.

I was absolutely shocked when Kolarov came on. After we switched to five at back, we invited more pressure and just gave BVB a chance to overload us on the flanks. From then on I was praying that Mancini never ever switches to a 3-men defence again.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, 3-5-2 for park the bus teams damn it and not against high opposition.

Yup, it's suicidal, especially when you don't really have the wingbacks to play that formation. Might also make more sense to begin implementing it during the preseason, not the regular season...

Bobby got it wrong last night, but at least he is trying different things rather than relying on 1 way of playing. In the long run we will be stronger. I have faith in him.

Quote from the BBC ""I know the problem and I will resolve very quickly this problem" I think I am happy with that

Think all teams now have changed there tactics against us last season it was 1 up against us now it's 3 on our back 4 line chasing everything
