So sign a player for one game? Except for a 3 CB system, I can't see us keeping all 5 happy. One of Ake, Stones and Akanji is going to go into the next summer not at all happy with their playing time.
Stones, Laporte, Ake and Dias have all had their injury problems. Smart to bring in another experienced international CB when we have room in the squad. We all saw how we ended last season even with four seniors and Mbete in the squad

there's a post some way back already sold this new lad for 50 million and he's not signed yet

We have Spurs at home in 2 weeks, lets say Dias picks up an injury and we're left with Stones & Mbete.

That's a lot to ask of a young kid with no experience. Akanji has plenty of experience, is a physical presence and Mbete gets a good loan to the Championship, like Doyle, McAtee and Delap got, all of whom are highly rated.
Mbete has gone to Huddersfield

Jesus people on here asking for more signings and when we are close to one are whinging like spoilt brats because he is not going to cost £50million and not that well known! If the lad can play anywhere at the back and is half way decent with pace then I am well happy with this. Can the spoilt brats just go and back to playing Fifa

Not sure we played a game without 2 of the 4 CBs starting?
